Rabat: Discover Rabat’s spiritual and architectural heritage at the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, resting place of Morocco’s revered monarch and his sons. Nearby, the Hassan Tower rises, a monumental 12th-century minaret and enduring symbol of a grand mosque that was never completed.
Casablanca: One of the largest in the world and dramatically set on the Atlantic shoreline. Completed in 1993, its 210 m (689 ft) minaret is the second tallest on earth. The mosque features exquisite Moroccan artisanship, from hand-carved stone and wood to intricate zellij tilework and marble floors.
Meknès: Admire the Bab el-Mansour Gate on Place El-Hedim in the heart of the Medina.
Fes: Led by your Local Expert, wander the maze of streets that make up the ancient Medina. See one of the world's oldest universities and pass hidden courtyards, mosques and workshops. Continue through the souks, an array of vendors selling food, clothes, leather goods and beautiful lights.
Erfoud: Enjoy the beauty of this little oasis with the backdrop of the Sahara desert whilst you explore the red walled streets.
Don’t miss the Sahara. It’s a long way away but worth it.
The itinerary was a pleasant balance of free time against organized activities. The optional tours were very good choices; we did all of them. The Tour Director went out of his way to make sure everything went well and all questions were addressed.
I was disappointed by the tours of carpet making and leather making. They reminded me of time share sales that I have seen in Mexico. The information about the process was very small compared to the intense sales pressure to purchase a product. I felt very sorry for anyone who purchased a product that they had not intended to buy. I t was a horrible experience. I left wondering what commission our guides were given for bringing the tours to these shops. We were advised of the appropriate gratuities to give our guides and bus drivers. This would have cost us about 20 Euros a day and added about 400 Euros to our cost. How much do your employees get paid? Why are we asked(directed) to subsidize their wages? Shouldn’t. This be our choice? We found that fellow travellers who purchased s package just before the trip were given a 10% discount while we were paying the full original price. This meant that we were paying about 1200 Euros more for our trip. We were not impressed with the first and last night’s accommodation. The carpet was stained to the degree that we asked for another room that was not much better. On our last night we asked for a wake up call so that we could get up for an early flight at the airport. This did not come. I had hoped for more information about the Moroccan people, the country and it’s history would be provided. The bus driver deserved a tip, but we found that the tour guide was lacking in his role as tour leader.
Very good pace and coverage Great driver Very good Tour Director
The tour takes you to the highlights of Morocco. My favorite memories are the Medina in Fes and the Sunset excursion to the Sahara Desert. Our guide was very informative. One downside of trip was all the traveling although there were breaks. There really was no time to enjoy the hotel amenities. Food was plentiful.Moroccan wine lacks complexity. Have enough small change coins for bathroom breaks
Great itinerary. Certainly experienced the diverse culture & landscape of Morocco.
Initial accommodations in Casablanca were dirty dated and area felt unsafe Many hours on bus with stops tailored for bathroom breaks Some of tours did not live up to expectations, we thought we were to see a rug co-op with women working on rugs but it was a high pressure sales situation which felt abusive. When 5 people pressure you to buy a rug it was uncalled for or a stop to see leather factory was really a sales pitch. Made me wonder what benefits the tour Director and local guide were receiving The tour was ok but not quite what we were expecting
We were most of the time on the bus riding all day. We arrive to the hotels so tired without remember nothing only the road and empty fields.. They stop us on the rug factory to obligate us to buy a rug even if we don’t needed. They took me in a separate room to show me rugs obligating me to buy and bargain for a low price. I said few times this is an abuse . They get upset for what I said.I had to buy one to be free. The food was serving one plate to share with the people of the table I prefer serving individual plates or buffet type. Some of the hotels had the tube on the bath to high to get into the shower. The young people was given the close room to the entrances or facilities and for me that I am older 84 they always gave me the far locations with the excuse the hotel is full. I believe the client has the right for everything, that is why they are paying for their trips . The director of the tour said that he is the one that has the right. That is wrong, we even have to pay him at the end of the tour. I had a voucher and I show it to him he said it was to late I could presented at the beginning of the tour. If I was the director of the tour I will fix the problem to any person .
Most of your time is spent on the bus. Jumping off to take photos. Casablanca is terrible. The mosque and Rick’s Cafe are the only things to see. Very diverse landscape which was good. We missed a few good things to do because we weren’t told about them.
80% of the travel scenery is desert conditions. There is not much of historical insights compared to Turkey and Egypt for examples. 5Star hotels in Morocco lag in service, cleanliness, comfort n food selection in same brand hotel in other cities Optional meals offered through Insight Vacation must be reviewed as the quality of food and entertainment are of generally poor, hence expensive and not value for money. There is room for improvement.
The tour covers most major parts of the country but would have been spectacular if it had included Chefchaouen instead of Al Jadeeda! Another highlight could have been an optional stay at a tent in the Sahara desert where we visited but stayed at local Xaluca resort The hotels were touted as 4 star but not as much maintained except for the Movenpick in Marrakech. Food was local flavors of the Tahjin style with subtle flavors. The driver was excellent, polite and always on time. Our tour director was a seasoned professional who made effort to keep the tour alive but was not always easy to understand and though was knowledgeable about his country, I would have liked more information about the various parts of the country, its culture and local history rather than just multiple picturesque spots that we stopped at.
Beautiful place to visit. The hotels were incredible (most with pools), and the food was great. We all thought there was too much pressure to make purchases at the carpet factory and tannery and the tour guide was involved in that. The tour guide had a thick accent which was often hard to understand. But all in all I would recommend this tour and destination.
