This tour covers every "must see" in Egypt in a comfortable organised package
The tour director was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and forth coming. If you are an history buff, then this tour is definitely worth it!!!!!!!
Site visits require a degree of mobility. Uneven ground, no handrails even at boat docks. *personal info removed by Feefo*. helped but it was still slow going while holding up others.
This was a brilliant tour and the itinerary covered all of the areas of Egypt that we had time too. Very efficient and thorough. Accommodation excellent and Nile Cruise superb. Tour guide Tarek was brilliant!
Fabulous tour, the tour guy (Tarak) was fantastic, knew everything and was very friendly and sociable, the coach driver (Anwar) was a great driver. All tours were well planned and on time. Excellent tour itinerary.
No pre info until day 2 despite repeatedly being told we would receive it 10 days in advance, then 3 days in advance then at the desk of hotel TD said we weren’t doing Insight Tour we were doing Mohamed’s tour. Told all optionals were in Egyptian pounds so we bought them only to find out it is US. Verified x3 with Insight and x2 with travel agent Received a what’s app prior to departure from Moane “hello dear” thought it was spam so trashed it Day later it came again same name with different itinerary confusing everyone in the group This tour needs a Tour Director!!! This egytionologist has NO Social skills whatsoever. There were no introductions, we met on the boat the first evening while we were lectured at for one hour and 45 minutes on tipping and all about him We had an unreasonable early start . On the bus by 415 am yes that is right to drive to airport to fly to Luxor. We were told we had to pay for all optionals now , no discussion on what to expect and no refunds. We were over charged and kept saying the amount was wrong but had to leave for the flight . This was done on a moving bus on the dark! We had vouchers that were refused and I reached out to the national sales rep who got that fixed on her end but not on his end . Told us our money wasn’t worth much 50 cents to US dollar . So now I had to go to a bank to get the rate . We were denied our refund until the end of the trip. Never received the full amount . This was how our trip started and continued throughout. Summarize point form now on No itinerary until the night before , refused to tell us start time , clothing attire whether inside or outside . You DO NOT have to cover knees and shoulders as per insight ..nor head .. this altered how I packed and subsequently had to do laundry on vacation Very little international food, cumin on almost everything I got very sick despite being an advanced practise nurse, took Dukoral and constant hand sanitizer If I had of know this was all buffet I would not have chosen this tour .. you can get sick from them . Insight always has sit down meals with welcome dinner and drinks and farewell dinner and drinks .. this had neither so it was up to us to introduce ourselves. Swarmed by locals and felt unsafe at times . Harassed for money , lectured for tips daily , toilets deplorable , some without running water to wash your hands and you pay for this! Boats driven by kids and no life jackets , no night running lights The Media was a 3 star boat , workers very pleasant, helped me get bananas to eat , only start times given for meals so we all lined up at the same time, no other food available after dining room closes .. a problem when you are unwell. A non smoking boat with ashtrays on the deck and lots of smoking which blows in your face while cruising. They know this but do nothing about it. Recognize the need for early start but this had middle of night starts which we never got use to due to parties at the hotel and then parties on shore that kept us awake so many nights we got 3 hours sleep which probably contributed to getting sick I have never had a tour director who could not read the room so badly ( had us outside in the sun for over 30 minutes lecturing us) very defensive about any feed back and lectured at you . He was extremely knowledgeable and serious but lacked any understanding about how to lighten up and have fun. I learned a lot and saw beautiful temples but…. This was an absolutely horrible experience and not Insights usual . I tried to give him some of this feedback several times and he was very defensive. ( can we have the agenda in the what’s app like usual .. No) He smelt of cigarettes, invaded your personal space. He told me to smile when he knew I was sick. He told me near the end that he arranged my meals … no he didn’t I did! At the surprise to us sit down dinner to leave early for Karnak there were 2 choices of which I could not eat one thing. They boiled me a potato which I ate after everyone else and had to leave. I just came back from Sicily with insight and have many positive memories and this is my 6th trip with Insight / Trafalgar This tour seriously needs an overhaul with up to date info and a tour director and more accurate info prior to departure so there is no big surprises once you have arrived.
Too many early starts. Not at all like other Insight Vacations we have been on. Poor food on cruise. Tour director had very poor people skills. Too much tipping required. Toilets on tours were disgraceful. No life jackets on excursions. Drink selection poor. History was great. Tour sites were good. Very poor communication for itinerary information. A lot of security checks in this country. Too many people harassing you to buy something. Most items were poor quality. Children begging for money with their parents watching in the background. First time we were sick from colds and stomach disorders. Heat is oppressive!! It was an experience that I would have rather had in another country.
You will be up early and there are a lot of stairs. All of the sites are amazing and you won’t leave Egypt thinking you missed something. Do not recommend bringing American Express cards as they’re not widely accepted. Can easily get Egyptian Pounds at the airport and in some hotels
Excellent, and an ex excellent tour guide in Terak. Very knowledgeable and a lovely sense of humour. We had a wonderful time in Egypt. We're very well looked after. Thank you Insight.
