day 1 - Arusha – Londorossi Gate – Lemosho Glades – Big Tree Camp (2780m)

We will pick you up from Arusha after breakfast time and drive you to Londorossi Gate. See the town of Boma N’gombe and the village of Sanya Juu along the way. This is also the last opportunity to some grocery shopping if you want to.

Enjoy your picnic lunch after you are done with the paperwork and start your ascent. You need to hike for around three hours to reach your goal today. The trail leads you through a rain forest, past large tree roots and lush nature. Reach Big Tree Camp by late afternoon.

day 2 - Big Tree Camp (2,780m) – Shira Camp 2 (3,900m)

Leave Mti Mkubwa Camp after breakfast in the morning. Notice how the surrounding transforms from one with lush vegetation to a moorland in less than an hour. If the weather is good, you will enjoy wonderful views over Mount Meru along the way.

Follow the trail as it moves uphill and downhill, along a narrow path and past erica trees to reach the altitude of 3,000 meters. Continue until you reach Shira Camp 1 via the Shira Ridge. Have your lunch and prepare for the final leg of today's journey. The final destination of the day is Shira Camp 2.

You will have spent the total of eight hours on foot to reach your final destination today.
