day 1 - Arrival in El Calafate

Welcome to the land of glaciers: El Calafate, located in Santa Cruz province, in south Patagonia.

Upon arrival, our representative will receive you at El Calafate airport and escort you to your accommodation. After reaching and checking in at the hotel, enjoy free time to yourself to relax at the hotel or explore the city on your own.

You can also choose our optional activity for the day: Nativo Experience - Lakes and Caverns. This excursion takes you along the coast of Lake Argentino on a 4x4. Ideal for the day of arrival or departure. The activity culminates in another cave where lunch or dinner is included.

day 2 - Perito Moreno Glacier with Boat Trip

Have your breakfast and get ready to head to Perito Moreno Glacier - our destination for the day. Our representative will come pick you up and together, we will head to the glacier.

Because unusual favorable local conditions, this glacier is the only one in the world that shows a closure and rupture process. The road leads to the very front of the glacier, which will be meters away from your eyes. The roar of the chunks of ice falling inside the glacier or from the glacier into the lake, the frequent collapse of the front seracs into the turquoise water, makes out of this day a very special and unique experience.

Then, we will go up to “Bajo de las Sombras”. Here, you will board the catamaran boat to navigate the Lago Rico where your will be able to appreciate the amazing ice wall of the Perito Moreno Glacier and its icebergs. Then, we go back to our accommodation in El Calafate.

Rancho Aparte experience will allow you to savor home-cooked meal in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The menu comes with a selection of wine pairings from Argentine and Patagonian wineries. We have four fixed menus; two of which are based on regional cuisine and adapt local products. The other two menus are "vegetarians or vegans".

day 3 - Leisure day at El Calafate

Feel free to spend time on your own today. You can also choose our optional excursion.

Recommended optional activity: Full day tour of El Chalten

The excursion begins at 7.00 AM from El Calafate. We will take the mythic Route 40, that goes along the Argentino Lake up to La Leona River. We will pass by Cañadón La Leona, and arrive to the ancient route hotel "La Leona" after 1.15-hours.

Our trip continues along the Lake Viedma, from where we can enjoy magical views of glaciers, hidden lakes and the overpowering presence of the Mount Fitz Roy. We will make some photo stops at the viewpoint of the Viedma Glacier and Lake and after a 3 hour ride, we will arrive to the andean village generally referred as “The Capital of the Trekking”. As soon as we arrive at El Chalten, we make another stop at the National Park Interpretation Centre. Once at Chalten, the activities will continue according to the option booked.

day 4 - El Calafate - Puerto Natales

After breakfast, we will take the bus to Puerto Natales in Chile. Upon arrival in Puerto Natales, our representative will be waiting for you at the bus station. Head to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

day 5 - Torres del Paine National Park

After breakfast, our representative will pick you at your hotel and take you to Torres del Paine National Park, World Heritage by the UNESCO. You will be accompanied by our local expert and lunch box will be provided. After the tour, we head back to your hotel in Puerto Natales.

Optional activity: Trek to Viewpoint las Torres in Torres del Paine National Park

We will leave Puerto Natales and head north towards Torres del Paine National Park. After a 2-hour trip, we will reach Estancia Torres del Paine, the starting point for our hike. Before starting the hike, our guide will give a short presentation. After a one-hour hike, we will arrive at the El Chileno Campsite shaded by a breathtaking lenga tree forest, crossing numerous springs cascading from the Almirante Nieto Mountain.

We will make a short stop and then continue on our way to the next lookout point at an altitude of 700 meters (2,297 ft.). From here, the trail will get steeper and a half an hour later, we will reach Las Torres Base from the eastern side of the lagoon. Here, we will have a stunning view of the three towers (Central, Monzino, and Dagostini) and the Peineta and Nido de Cóndores Mountains, if the weather conditions allow. After a few minutes of rest, we will return back from the same trail and head back to Puerto Natales.

*Reaching the Las Torres Base lookout point depends on the physical conditions of the participants and current weather conditions. No refunds will be given in the event that a participant is not able to reach the lookout point due to the aforementioned reasons.

day 6 - Leisure day at Puerto Natales

Today, you are free to enjoy your time in Puerto Natales on your own or choose our optional activity for the day.

Recommended optional activity: Balmaseda and Serrano Navigation

The trip will start in Puerto Natales and on our way, you can see buildings that belongs to “Frigorífico Bories”, one of the biggest meat industries in Patagonia. You can also observe an imperial cormorant colony, a small sea-lions colony and a huge variety of plants that form the flora such as coigüe, cinnamon tree, lenga, ñirre and the calafate. Balmaceda Glacier can be seen from the boat while for Serrano Glacier, a 20 minutes’ walk is necessary, through a path that borders a small lake that appears with the melting glacier. On our way back, we will have a typical Patagonian lunch in a farm in “Última Esperanza” bay.
