Trek to Petra and explore the magnificent Wadi Rum. Jordan’s wilderness is astonishing, and the best way to truly appreciate the biblical landscapes, ancient trails, and rich cultural history of this land is on foot. The trek from Dana Nature Reserve to Petra is widely regarded as one of the finest multi-day hikes in the Middle East, often referred to as the “Inca Trail of the Middle East.” Led by our experienced local guide and supported by a skilled Bedouin crew, this immersive journey takes you through remote canyons, across windswept plateaus, and along the edge of near-vertical gorges. You’ll camp in serene desert wadis (oases), surrounded by silence, stars, and sandstone cliffs. As you arrive on foot into Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, your first glimpse of the Monastery (Ad Deir) is nothing short of breathtaking. Continuing through the ancient Nabataean city, we explore its famed colonnaded street, the Roman-style theatre, and of course, the Treasury (Al-Khazneh) — all carved into glowing red rock. After Petra, the adventure continues in the majestic desert of Wadi Rum, famously associated with T.E. Lawrence. Here, we explore its dramatic sandstone formations by 4WD jeep and on foot. This lunar-like landscape, often used as a stand-in for Mars in films, offers some of the most spectacular sunsets on Earth — a blaze of orange, red, and gold. To round off this unforgettable journey, we descend to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on the planet, where you'll float effortlessly in its salty waters and perhaps indulge in a revitalising mud treatment — the perfect way to relax and reflect before returning to Amman.
