We returned a few weeks ago from a fabulous trip to Jordan, guided by the amazing Saleh. The trip itself was incredible, one of the best trips we've ever done (and I work in travel, so that's to say something!). It can be hard to find the right balance on how long to spend in each location before moving on to the next place, and often we can find ourselves wishing we had spent a day less or a day more somewhere, but I found that this tour had this absolutely nailed down. To add to the excellent pace, the country is fascinating, the people of Jordan are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet, and the experiences are top notch. Our guide Saleh was absolutely amazing. Charming and thoughtful, a fantastic storyteller, and with plenty of experience navigating groups, Saleh made the trip even more special. His insightful perspective into the life in the Middle East gave so much more context to the trip and the country, both past and present. It's been hard to pinpoint a highlight - but I guess Petra would have to take the cake. What an incredible place to visit and how fascinating it is to walk along the Sik, seeing the Treasury peaking through for the first time, walking up to the Monastery and being at awe of its magnitude, or hiking up to the high sacrificial place and stand high above the incredible mountains surrounding you. I will always cherish the memories of making a Bedouin tea and watching the sunset in the empty Wadi Rum, and I highly recommend to do as many extra activities as possible whilst you're there. Little Petra was such a nice surprise, the camel ride was so fun, and the boat trip in Aqaba was a highlight too, showing how much diversity you can see in Jordan. Jordan is a safe haven in the Middle East, and I would highly recommend to everyone to visit at the moment. The low tourist numbers make for an even more special trip, having the feeling of truly discovering the country. Don't be afraid to go to Jordan. If it is on your wishlist go now. You will absolutely not regret it.

This was a great trip and thoroughly recommend. I would like to disagree with the previous comment about the transport as I've done many Explore trips and the bus was perfectly adequate. However I'd like to agree with the comments about the Tour Leader. Although very knowledgeable, there is a limit to the amount of information people can take in. A lot of time was spent standing and talking rather than seeing as much as possible, and there was little respite on the bus - 4 hours of non stop talking on one of the travel days when we just wanted to sleep or read or get to know other group members!

Fabulous trip to a wonderful country. Jordan has a fascinating history, stunning landscapes, lovely people and great food. Our tour leader Thaeh was extremely knowledge and organised the trip in a kind and gentle way. He was invariably kind to our group and everyone we encountered.

Excellent

I highly recommend these tours with G Adventures. The CEOs are consistently amazing, the locations visited highlight the special nature of the areas, and a lot of thought is put into the itinerary. They are comfortable including accommodations and transportation. And I especially love visiting the Planeterra-supported organizations.

Amazing private tour

Our group of friends had a private 5-day tour of Jordan last month. We visited incredible sites like Petra, Wadi Rum, and the Dead Sea. The experience was fantastic, and we highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Jordan!

It was a wonderful and varied tour and the highlights were of course Petra and Wadi Rum. To see Petra with so few tourists was an absolute treat but for the Jordanians it is tough that so many are staying away despite it being safe and quiet and without the tensions many imagine from the nearby trouble. Petra is as awesome and extraordinary as I imagined and its scale impossible to capture in a photograph. Our guide Saleh was very patient and full of stories and the history. Most enjoyable trip and so glad I chose to go even at the last minute. Thank you
