The itinerary was great. I loved how there were stops along the way that incorporated the local experiences and allowed us as travellers to gain insights into how the locals live and work and how absolutely grateful and extremely friendly they were to have a bus load of people at their doors. I hope all trips incorporate a local experience. Only issue I had with the itinerary was we ended up in a beautiful place for the night but everything was closing down once we arrived and we were leaving before anything was open. We were not late getting there we were right on time for everything. Maybe looking into the the times of arrivals to places would help. It wasn't just stores closing but restaurants as well which gave us a very limited choice of eating and of course everyone was going to the same place for food which made it extremely busy.
We were pleased with the tour. Very personable and knowledgeable tour guide. Nice that the bags don't have to be out at 6am. We are not big shoppers so sometimes the "free time" dragged on a bit, especially if you didn't do an excurion. Lots of time spent driving....but had a lot of ground to cover, lol. The tour is very well organized. Really enjoyed the sheep farm/lunch, Giant's Causeway (1 hr 35 min walking), Crystal factory and lots of history. The evening at the Torphichen Inn was enjoyable. The owner is quite the character and the entertainment and food were very good. We are not whiskey drinkers ( from the people talking, most were not either), so could have done without the whiskey tasting. We were prepared for lots of rain but only rained 3 times and for very short periods. The main reason for going was to see the Tattoo and it was awesome.
Had a wonderful time. Belfast was a wonderful surprise and worth going back to. It’s come a long ways and I’m so glad it was included in the itinerary. I love Ireland all the way around. Scotland was magical—from the highlands to Edinburgh. I could have spent the entire time in Edinburgh and been completely satisfied. The military Tattoo was phenomenal. Some side activities were ok, but were genuine. Not a lot of time to to spend in one spot as travel was extensive. Loved our host and our driver .
Itinerary was good, but many of the optional excursions were cancelled and there were no substitutes nor suggestions given for what to do instead.
Good itinerary covering Northern Ireland, & Scotland, but would be better with 2 days in Glasgow, & extra nights in Scottish Highlands. Otherwise a great & and unforgettable trip.
was wonderful. Very knowledgeable about every area we toured. Our bags were taken care of without any thought on my part. The hotels were great.
well organized and knew the areas well
The tour Director and Driver were great to keep us providing excellent service throughout the tour. The hotel and hospitality provided was also very good. We wish have a little more time to explore city of Glasgow. We reached late evening and could not see anything
The adverted itinerary sounded amazing but there were several of the “additional activities” that were not offered once we got there. As a solo traveler or someone that doesn’t want a lot of free time this was frustrating. The experiences that were offered were great. So many things to see and do. Almost every day have a good balance of experiences with enough time to enjoy it and some free time. Accommodations were all very nice, loved the added service of bags being handled and breakfast each morning. My favorite activities were when we got to meet the local people, like at the farm and dinners. I would’ve like to have more walking city tours versus being on the bus. Be prepared to walk very little.
It was perfect.
This was a fantastic itinerary. Got to see big cities, small towns, country hills. Some days felt long on the bus but I would not eliminate a thing.
I enjoyed the places we saw. We visited the major sights of Northern Ireland and Scotland and heard stories of natives sharing their history and culture. The dinner shows were very entertaining. The only downside was our guide. He left the stragglers behind as he moved too fast and didn’t make sure the entire group knew where to go. That left me unsure many times where to find the group. Other members had to look out for each other.
This was the most amazing holiday and experience, and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. and were amazing hosts (the way navigated some of those roads....just WOW!!). The accommodation was great, the tours, dinners and sightseeing stops were all amazing. was an amazing multitasker, especially when she had to create some alternate events for us at the last minute! Her efforts were amazing and the results added more memorable moments to our phenomenal itinery (the last-minute Ceilidh was SOOOOO much fun). Thank you, Trafalgar, for another amazing trip. Highly recommend to all.
It was very well thought out! *personal info removed by Feefo* had so much information and Iver drove us very safely! The Storyteller excursion with dinner was fun! Best seafood chowder I’ve ever had! Everyone was so welcoming. I felt the prices of the additional excursions were reasonably priced. Seeing the Tattoo was the highlight of the trip for me! I was blown away! We made lasting friendships with other travelers!
There were a lot of experiences packed into the 11 days. There were a variety of excursions….something for everyone. Our tour guide and bus driver were excellent. We felt safe under their care everywhere we went. Some favorite experiences were the visit to the working sheep farm in Ireland and the Military Tattoo in Scotland, but we really enjoyed everything.
I liked this itinerary because it gave a sample of the history, food, mythical folklore of each country. , our tour guide gave us wonderful stories to explain what we were about to experience. It also gave us some free time to experience the towns itself. I have traveled 71 countries and I think that was the best travel guide and the best driver. They made it so enjoyable.
It was a fantastic and memorable experience!!!! Travel- coach was clean & like new. Accommodations - clean & adequate. Luggage always picked up & delivered promptly. Breakfasts - awesome!! Great variety. Lunches- never a problem finding food Dinners- those provided were excellent. Great authentic menu choices. Snacks- provided by guide & driver were a nice touch of enrichment Tour guide- exceptional -Fiona Coach driver - exceptional - Adam Itinerary - good timing for stops - great sites - keeps you on the move - consider adding The Kelpies - optionals are worthy added value - site guides were exceptional Felt bad that very few tipped them - pre-paid gratuity was well worth it - would have liked a stop at Culloden Absolutely would highly recommend Trafalgar in future.
Places on trip were all very good, scenery, places of interest, local guides ( Especially)Derry. Galway, Giants Causway, Belfast, Glasgow, highlands and Edinburgh walking on the hallowed turf/lawns of St Andrew’s. Hard to single out one ! The hotels on the other hand, I consider were definitely NOT up to tourist class! Some or most without A/C, fans or a small refrigerator? Zero hanging space . One even had two coat hangers on a “stick”directly above a table and two chairs. Have a photo. Poor at best !
This was a busy tour with very full days but perfect, and we loved it, to see as much as possible. We saw the highlights of all the stops and this left opportunity to return if we decide to go back to see more of a particular destination. We were very happy with this tour content
, our guide, was was excellent! She was so well informed and made everything interesting and enjoyable!
Beautiful scenery & good food. We had an exceptional tour director and driver. They made the trip extra fun!
First time travelling with Trafalgar (and to Ireland/Scotland), and it was WONDERFUL! For those who may be going for the first time, you need to know that some of the optional tours are during the day, as you make stops on the bus, so choosing not to go may leave with you with nothing to do. (Fine if you are already in hotel/evening) We did the majority of the optional tours, which increases your price substantially. Had we not done any of them, I’m not sure how I would rate the trip. You also need to know that gratuities are pretty much expected. We planned on paying during trip vs. upon booking, but to be told “there’s a list for those who have already paid” them was a little irritating. Our tour guide was great and knowledgeable, as well as our bus drivers. This is a fast paced tour, but you are visiting quite a few places, so it’s expected. We enjoyed the time on the bus too, since we LOVED the scenery. There was only one day that I felt the bus time was a lot. Would have loved to spend more time in Pitlochry instead of stop just after. I know some didn’t like the older hotel in the highlands, but it was roomy enough, other than the shower, and there was a nice view from the window. With the windows left open, lack of air conditioning was ok. One of the more modern hotels was hot and/or cramped, so dress in layers as lots of pubs etc, don’t have a/c. Breakfast meals were always nice.
Saw a lot but very rushed
Excellent trip…fast paced.. we were constantly on the move but we saw so much in the 10 days. We wish we had had a bit more time in some of the smaller locations like Derry/Londonderry and Donegal, but overall we saw a lot and covered alot of ground. The sheep farm dog herding demonstration/Be My guest experience was a highlight. The shepherd was informative and entertaining and the lunch afterwards was one of the best.
It was enjoyable, informative, and fun. Our tour guide Stephanie was fantastic. She guided us with knowledge and humor. We all loved her, a true asset to your company. Ivor, the driver was also great. The beauty of Ireland and Scotland was amazing and learning so much about the histories of these two countries was enlightening.
First ever group bus tour. Would probably have liked fewer optional activities and more scheduled activities with longer time spent at each. Otherwise the itinerary provided a good overview for a first time visit to the areas covered. The tour director, driver and local guides were excellent and very knowledgeable about local, national and international history relating to the areas visited. Dining choices were very good and accommodations were very nice except for those in a couple of small towns being older and less modern, which I suppose is to be expected, but perhaps the schedule could be modified to end daily travel where accommodations are of more consistent quality.
It was very fast paced. Made many new friends.
It is a very good itinerary for those who want to see those 3 countries. The transportation is handled seamlessly...allowing that to happen. The experiences are charming and helped create lasting memories.
The itinerary allowed us to visit and experience so many amazing places. Our bus driver was incredible as well! We would definitely use Trafalgar on our next European adventure!
Absolutely 💯
It was a view into the daily life of the people. An extraordinary moment to see history that I had only read about or seen in pictures. A grand time to share all of the fabulous stories with my significant other!
