Reviews of our Ireland Tours for June
Feedback from guests who toured Ireland during June.
The only issue I had with the itinerary was that we had too much extra time in Killarney and not enough time in Cork. This is as much me as the tour but I found I should have taken some extra time to myself, vs. doing every event.
In the short period of time that we had to spend in Ireland, I think that we saw the highlights. The tour guide, was wonderful and well informed. The bus driver, was skilled and great at his job. It was a wonderful trip and a great experience in a beautiful country! The accommodations were good and every effort was made to provide handicapped accessibility for my husband.
An exploration into the Irish background and culture. The tour has been designed to give the traveller a good insight into the island’s scenic beauty and delving in the local history. The optional tours provided us with the chance to interact with the locals. A tour would not be a success without a knowledgeable and professional tour director and an ace of a driver. We had both on this tour. We enjoyed it to the max. The atmosphere was one of camaderie full of songs, laughter and “craic
our guide was super knowledgeable. He brought history & culture alive. Loved the authentic, off the beaten path excursions & experiences. The Haggis ceremony, bagpipes, castles, etc. Not a fan of some of major cities. Was more interested in the small, quaint, antiquated towns , pubs, etc. there were about 30 people on our tour & that was a nice amount. Not too many & not too few. Trafalgar tours took care of the planning, transportation, etc. felt safe too. Would use trafalgar again & have already recommended it to my friends & family.
It was a trip of a lifetime. and were the best guide and driver. We were lucky to have them. Luggage being handled for us was a nice surprise. More information on the excursions would have been nice, or to not pay in advance. Near the end of the trip we were exhausted and didn’t necessarily want to go to the optionals we had paid for. I do understand that the places needed numbers and that they couldn’t fluctuate too much. There was a farm that was mentioned in our earlier paperwork that wasn’t an option due to time restraints. I would have stayed an extra day in Belfast to do that farm and given up a walking tour in another city. I was very pleased that Beleek Pottery and Waterford crystal were part of the tour. I probably wouldn’t have paid for the optional at Cliffs of Moher. The birds weren’t all that interesting to hear about and I eventually stopped listening. Horse drawn carriage in Killarney was highly enjoyable. Menus at the optionals seemed to all be the same. We were begging for salads by the second week. You really need to enjoy beer or wine on this trip. I don’t drink much and their sodas all tasted like diet. I drank a lot of water in two weeks. All in all, I highly recommend this tour!
The itenerary was excellent - it covered so much, at least once we went for the optionals. Great guide, very knowledgeable, great driver, a real gentleman. Everything very expensive now when paying from Canada, so that was a bit of a downside....but the actual trio ...loved, loved, loved. Good variety from castles to irish wolfhounds, to Irish horses stud farm, to border collie, sheep herd training, city tours, and the scenery.... Probably things we did not see or were rushing through, but in 2 weeks, did not expect anything else. No bus ride was too long, we were always stopping to see something along the way, either a picture opportunity, or a scheduled tour, or whatever,
