So, for this first day, feel free to wander the cobblestone streets lined with outdoor cafes, enjoy the mouthwatering aroma of prized Argentine beef sizzling on an open “parrilla” (barbecue) and browse the local antique and artisan markets that offer plenty of bargain shopping. A great introduction to Argentina. We enjoyed staying in small hotels and the pre-arranged trips. It is very difficult to pick out the high points but the wines of Mendoza must be near the top. Services - Full marks for the pre departure discussions over where we wished to go and what we wanted to do. The arrangements went as well as can be expected with a trip of this length and we particularly welcomed having a direct contact with the office in Buenos Aires. We also enjoyed the wine presented as a gift on the our day of arrival: it set a standard. All the guides and local agents were efficient and helpful.
