The "Contrasts of Japan End Tokyo" tour is a 10-day city sightseeing trip ideal for seniors seeking a comfortable way to explore Japan’s diverse cities. Starting and ending in Tokyo, the journey features Hiroshima, Kyoto, and more, with all logistics—accommodation, transport, meals—managed for you. The tour’s standout feature is its thoughtful itinerary, balancing urban excitement with cultural depth for a truly enriching experience.
It was great to have the knowledgeable guides to enhance our visit to Japan. The hotels and transport were high quality. All of our guides were friendly, Ken told the best stories about the history and mythology of Japan
I really enjoyed the city tours and a bomb dome. David Solanes was very attentive and assisted us with all our needs. The tour guides were very nice and did a great job. I really liked Saul, Rei, and Nadia. With a little more practice, Sauls English will improve. He has great potential.
Had a wonderful Experience With our tour guide David. Very expressive And funny.
The best time of our lives in Japan.
It was one of the most amazing and lovely experience with the team, especially David Solanes and David Muñoz. Japan, the country has been nothing but special and amazing. The most memorable trip and something that well be treasuring for our entire life.
We were quite happy with the tour. We were not told by our travel agent that the tour was in Spanish and English but we enjoyed listening to the information in Spanish. I think our last day in Kyoto was disappointing because of the timing. I suggest we could have left the hotel one hour later in the morning and not returned to our hotel before going to the Geisha area. Had we been there earlier in the afternoon, we may have seen a Geisha and before hand the rest of the area in day light. I would have liked the bus to take us back as well on that evening instead of paying for a taxi. There was also confusion when we needed to return to Tokyo on the bullet train . Our travel agent and the Europamundo itinerary both stated that we would catch the bullet train at 10.00am and return to Tokyo at 2.09pm. The night before the tour guide kindly arranged for us to catch a later train because we had been told to catch the 8.06am with Erica which meant we would have to wait four hours in Tokyo for our connecting train to Nagano. David Solanes was a pleasure to have as our tour guide. He was informative and entertaining with his material. He made effort to learn to know his clients in the short time we were together.
You covered a lot of good places in japan. Mt Fuji done very well
We had a great trip to Japan and we found Europamundos trip well organised and covered a lot of good destinations. In terms of suggestions, please consider balancing the daily itinerary as some days were very crammed with a lot of spots and walking. You should also consider the age of the group members as everyone will not be able to walk at the same speed or have the same level of fitness. Further, food preferences will need more attention as vegetarian food was not provided for in most places.
The trip as united enjoyable particularly Mt Fuji and Kyoto. The hotels were also good with the exception of Candeo Osaka and Hiroshima. There are two issues which I want to point out. I am a vegetarian and though the guides did their best to convey this to the restaurants where we ate, the food was limited to tofu based dishes. Ultimately I had to skip the meals and eat in my own. In this age of veganism I did not expect to have an issue with food. Also, I being 70 found that the free time given to see each site a bit short in many locations where there is more to see and long where there is not. Sometimes the guides walk too fast and it is a bit difficult to keep up.
The trip was extremely enjoyable for most part and showed us the urban and rural Japan along with the modern and traditional. We covered tokyo, Mt Fuji, Kyoto,Osaka, Okayama and Hiroshima. The guides were quite knowledgeable though we had 3 guides in 9 days Hotels were good except to the Candeo at Osaka and Hiroshima. Rooms were small and claustrophobic. Also there is one day in kyoto where the sightseeing involves a lot of walking Bamboo forest, Tenyurji, Imperial Palace, Fushimi Inari and at the earliest can end by 3. A small snack served o the bus would be very helpful. 6 meals were included in our tour but they were all similar with sukiyaki and sashimi/ tempura. The other cuisines of Japan were left out. Also, 1 or 2 buffet meals with alternate spread may be ok for outsiders. The option for vegan and vegetarian people was limited to tofu which was not expected in this day and age.The trip does say a lot of walking and we came prepared for that, but in many of the locations the time give is insufficient to cover or even see properly. Also, since the tour allows all age groups, the speed of the seniors/ older persons should be kept in mind.
