15 day comprehensive tour encompassing the imperial cities of Meknes, Fes and Marrakech
Unwind by the waves of the Atlantic Ocean in the charming port town of Essaouira
Spend the night on the edge of the Sahara, experience vast sand dunes and amazing stars
The hotels were horrible. 3 nights without a working shower, one night at a bed bug invested hotel along with Spiders all in the room. One night with a hotel room without a working air conditioner, I had to leave the glass door open over looking a busy street. Not safe for a single woman. See photo attached with the bed bug
The tour was wonderful, with a good mix of seeing, doing with some walking to see sites. The range of activities was great, interesting as many are not common elsewhere. The accommodation was suitable, as the range is not vast in the country areas. Overall I'd happily recommend this tour to anyone, and would be happy to do it all again.
Thoroughly enjoyed my recent wide ranging tour of Morocco thanks in no small part to our super guide Ibrahim and our excellent driver Mustafa who accompanied us over 2,800 klms of this lovely country to cities ancient and modern ,to the Atlas mountains, the Sahara desert and tiny villages. The cuisine was was superb and the people so friendly. Can't praise this trip enough.
Very exciting comprehensive introduction to Morrocco covering all aspects of it's history, culture landscape and customs. From the palaces to the souks and medinas and mosques and the mountains there was never a dull moment. Our guide, Ibrahim, excelled in his excellent care for everyone. He was full of knowledge and always sensitive to each individual's needs. He could never do enough! We were lucky to have a great group of people on our trip.
Great trip. Good itinerary. Covered a lot of ground. Always felt safe and comfortable in the coach. Mustafa the driver was careful on the road, and very helpful with luggage loading and unloading. The tour leader, Ibrahim, was excellent and very informative about the history of his country and what to expect about the sights we would see. Highly recommend this trip.
Accomodation variable from OK to very good. Guide and driver excellent
Mustard’s was possibly the best tour guide I have had. Excellent holiday in every way
This was a full on trip as expected. Lovely group which enhanced the experience. Highlights for me were Fes, Essaouira, dinner with Berber Family, Desert Camp & camel experience. Food was interesting, alot of Tagines and bread! Hotels varied some tired and in need of alot of TLC with others better or traditional and authentic. Itinerary was packed, some days there was more driving than others with necessary stops for breaks. Morocco is a fascinating country with so much to see. This trip certainly leaves you wanting to see more of it.
Our explore leader was very well informed and really went far out of his way to help us when we needed it. Rabia is a good hearted and humble guy who tolerated all our chattiness and answered all our questions well. All the individual tour guides in different cities were truly excellent, well informed and hospitable. Our bus driver Ahraf was also quick to help us in every way he could and always had a smile on his face, navigating tight turns and long journeys so well we regularly applauded him for his good work. The itinerary was ideal, yes some days in the desert and mountains involved long journeys and dusty towns (with “four star” hotels occasionally not quite living up to that standard) but that is to be expected when you go further into the country and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It’s part of the charm and variety the tour provided, I genuinely believe this tour couldn’t have offered a more authentic and diverse experience of Morocco, from Essaouira’s artsy coastal scene to the incredible views from the high atlas mountain hikes to film studios and of course the incredible 8th century Fez medina. This tour ticked all my boxes for culture, nature, architecture, history and exploration. I left morocco feeling like i’d seen all I had wanted to see, in fact the last day in marrakesh almost felt superfluous as we’d already seen more authentic and less touristy things throughout the country. All in all I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in going to Morocco, I think it is the best tour of the country on offer.
Our tour leader Mohamed was fantastic. He watched out for us, shared stories of the local culture and people and he made the trip the interesting success that it was.
Muhammad wonderfully knowledgeable, humorous and personable lead guide. Local guides also good. Coach driver exemplary. Hotel: Al Jasira Hotel particularly good.
This was an excellent trip and our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. The itinerary was good with just the right amount of activities for each day and enough free time in key locations. The hotels were a bit tired and not always clean with frequent lack of internet service, but this was somewhat expected at the quality level of accommodations booked for the trip.
The trip was incredibly interesting and memorable. The itinerary and general arrangements were well thought out thanks to our amazing tour leader Boubker. He is thoughtful, conscientious, knowledgeable and always make sure everyone was well taken care of! This trip exceeded my expectations in every respect. As a matter of fact, I am contemplating repeating the trip with my friends down the road. So much to see so much to savour!
This is varied tour covering cities, villages, historical sites, mountains, deserts and seaside. The tour was made even better by an excellent guide who clearly explained the history, geography and geology of ehat we saw. It is ideal for those who like busy holidays.
The trip was well organized. We got to see a great swath of Morocco and it was a nice mix of organized excursions and free time. Hassan was a great guide with a lot of insight into many aspects of Moroccan life. Hotel accommodations were better than we expected and our group size of 10 people was perfect for moving from place to place.
rather boring itinerary, with repeat medina visits in different cities (they all look the same) and little free time to explore, also long rides with unchanging scenery. tour could have been centered in Marrakech with multiple-one day excursions to places of interest (High Atlas, Essaouira, Sahara, date palm oasis, Ait Ben Haddou, etc). Accommodations varied from marginal to very nice... so overall rating of satisfactory. restaurants that could accommodate our small group of 10 varied in quality. this was my first Explore tour and I'm not inclined, based on this experience, to book another. p.s. rough tour-contracted baggage handlers destroyed my suitcase.
The tour, driver Hassan and Tour Leader, Ridouane were fantastic. I had a brilliant time, just going with the flow of the tour and experiencing all I could in Morocco. Ridouane is a godsend and an amazing leader, so patient and able to troubleshoot problems from more pedantic members of the tour group. I don't know how he does it!
This is a pretty full on trip with a lot of travel made comfortable by regular stops and an excellent driver. Visiting major historical sights, beautiful buildings and crowded lively Souks contrasted sharply with meeting individual families struggling to survive in harsh circumstances. The Todra Gorge trek was strenuous, steep and rugged with no proper path in many places and walking boots would definitely be an advantage. Meeting the Bedouin family living high up all year round was surprising and memorable. Local tour guides were also good. Hotels were much as expected but in Essaouira and Marrakesh were situated a longish walk from the centre which was disappointing. All in all a fascinating insight into a country of huge contrasts.
The tour was great to get an overview of the country, very well organized , bus driver was fantastic, hotel were good with good breakfast. The oco lodge was the nicest place to stay. More time in Fez would be great, sadly there was no spare time to explore. The gorge walk was a bit more difficult than explained and it should probably say that older people might struggle as there was no path and we were hiking over slippery and steep terrain, having to step over rocks. I think we were all a bit surprised by the difficulty of the walk. But the local guide there was fabulous and meeting a berber family was very nice experience. I would stop the trips to the overpriced tourist shops and production areas with sometimes aggressive selling and rather visit small businesses the Moroccan people use. We requested to stop at a seller by the road which was a great experience and a fraction of the price. The local guides were fabulous, full of enthusiasm and giving plenty of info on the walks and beyond ,making it very interesting . Sadly that can't be said about the explore Tourguide. I never had a Tourguide with such little enthusiasm and interest in the guests. He only spoke minimum, didn't give much info about Morocco, didn't stay with the meals when taking us to his place of choice (sadly often full of tourists with moderate food, small private places provided much better food and half the price) Instead he wondered off to see friends. Orientation walks were just rushing with no photo stop and not much guidance , no maps were handed out like on other tours. When I asked what museum to see in Marrakesh the answer was to check Google. That's disappointing. We considered to see the Louis Vuitton garden but needed booking in advance and was sold out by the time we arrived. This is something the guide should have told us and organized. I also never had a tour where the guide leaves early. The tour was till 20.10 but he left 2 days earlier on the 18.10 for another tour. He put us into a taxi after dinner but couldn't be bothered to take us to the hotel just said goodbye. I have been on several tours and know that was an exception but one lady was first time with explore and very disappointed.
I arrived with an injury to my rt wrist. Ridouane was exceptional in sorting me out in a local hospital. Carrier on for the 2weeks with Ridouane & group helping me when needed. Enjoyed the trip inspite of my injuries.
All in all a very good value for money trip, we saw lots of an interesting country and met with quite a few local people. We particularly liked the 2 meals we had in private houses. The food was excellent and the hosts extremely friendly. These were excellent choices. Also the night spent at the Erg Chebbi desert camp as part of the trip was an added bonus, as were the star lit sky and wonderful sunset and sunrise. The desert camel ride also an experience. I must say our group all got on well together and we have had contact since arriving home. An excellent trip.
The quality of our tour guide was outstanding
Just that I very much enjoyed this holiday and loved that the desert trip was now included. The tea with a Berber family was great as was the meals we had in the family restaurants in Fes and near the Gorge - best meals on the trip. Also we had one person on our trip who moaned a lot so please ignore all his comments if negative. He had not even downloaded the trip notes and had no ideas where he was going unless he was told the evening before - he was not popular. Anyway a lovely holiday again with Explore, thank you. PS must add that I left my phone charger in Casablanca and Boubker, as soon it it was possible, managed to find me a local shop and we purchased a replacement one at a fraction of the price at home. He also said he would collect the charger next time he was back at the hotel and post it to me - I offered him money but he would not accept anything. Very lovely man who obviously enjoys his job and it shows.
Tour leader did an excellent job with what was not an easy group
Enjoyed Morocco very much. Was pleased with the diversity of what we saw and experienced on the trip.
