In general, we enjoyed the trip and its itinerary except the day that traveling from Budva Montenegro to Sarajevo Bosnia. This journey was horribly too long. We did not have our dinner until after 9 PM.
This is a tour that visits countries still recovering from communist rule. Don't expect ultra modern hotels, although the hotels we stayed in were clean and efficient. Luggage was always brought up to our rooms in decent time. Breakfast was always buffet style, a little cold most of the time, but served it's purpose. Traffic was a bit of a issue, a lot of winding mountain roads, but we stopped lots to take a break. This is a very good tour and I would recommend it to those who love history and really nice scenery.
This trip provides access to the majority of countries in the Balkans region.
I was told to buy a transfer unnecessarily for the end of the tour. I never used the transfer and went on the free bus, which I was originally told the time was not right for me. I am still waiting to hear from Trafalgar about a refund for this.
Some long travel days can make it a bit tiring, but overall it was a great trip.
Superb trip and well run by tour director and driver. They got the group buzzing from day one which helped get through some long days in the coach. Well done to all. Some great sights that seem off the mainstream routes for tours and well worth visiting. Strongly recommend trafalgar, tour director, driver and the “balkan adventure” tour.
The tour director went above and beyond to assist everyone whoever needs help… all countries were amazing exceeded my expectations….
The itinerary for the 14-day Balkan Adventure tour is a bit difficult for individuals with reduced mobility. However, it is worth it. Most of the visits are done at an acceptable pace given two exceptions in Bulgaria and Serbia. One of the passenger on our summer 2025 tour was 82 years old and she was able to negotiate the tour in an acceptable fashion and she was always positive and in a good mood during her journey!
I really enjoyed this amazing tour to the Balkans from the very beginning till the end of it. The city tours included in each of the capitals and other places we visited were spectacular and well city-centered located. I had plenty of time to do some exploration on my own and find places to have excellent local foods and drinks. If you like to go shopping, you will fine countless of places in the areas that you will visit during this amazing tour. I really enjoyed the history and culture of each of the places with visited. But what made this journey through the Balkans unforgettable was the guide and driver we had. was always there for us, helping and suggesting things to each one of us, very friendly and very knowledgeable describing the history that marked some of the countries we visited. If you don’t have much time and you want to have an amazing and unforgettable Balkan experience this is the tour I highly recommend.
