In 2003, the Quebrada de Humahuaca was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its cultural landscape. This excursion takes you from Salta through Jujuy province to explore its enchanting landscapes, villages, and nearly 10,000 years of history.

Travel from south to north, beginning in Volcán, where green mountains give way to ocher and brown peaks. Follow the Rio Grande to the town of Tumbaya, home to a beautiful church built in 1796. Continue along National Route 52 to Purmamarca, a town of legends and singers, with a church dedicated to Santa Rosa de Lima dating from 1648, at the foot of the famous "Cerro de Siete Colores."

Visit Tilcara to explore its reconstructed Pucará, an ancient indigenous fortress that showcases the splendor of the Tilcara people. Continue north, passing Huacalera and the Tropic of Capricorn, to reach Uquía, where the church houses an important collection of the famous "Arcabuceros Angels," emblematic examples of Cuzco painting.

End in Humahuaca, the heart of the Quebrada, rich in natural, historical, and cultural attractions. Highlights include the Monument to the Heroes of Independence and the figure of San Francisco Solano, who appears every noon in the central square to bless the people.
