This "11 Days-Hidden Safari Treasures of Africa" tour is designed to offer you the authentic African safari and camping experience in Tanzania's many national parks and game reserves.

You will be touring some the best hidden and less visited national parks in this excursion, an experience that is sure to provide you with a sense of African adventure that is unmatched anywhere else on the continent.

The program includes one of the country's untouched and authentic remote wilderness areas, namely Nyerere National Park, formally known as Selous Game Reserve, the largest park in Tanzania. It has the most extensive diversity of safari activities ranging from boat safari along the Great Rufiji River to classic game drive in thriving wildlife areas.

Next up is Mikumi National Park. The park has open horizons and abundant wildlife of the Mkata Floodplain, the fashionable centrepiece of Mikumi, which draws frequent comparisons to the more famous Serengeti plains.

Continue your African adventure by visiting Ruaha National Park, the second-largest park in Tanzania. Here, the experience of game viewing will be spiced up by the exciting landscape and the Great Ruaha River, as well as high concentration of elephants, big cats and the rare African hunting dogs.

Lastly, take a trip to Udzungwa National Park. Its forest makes Udzungwa unique in East Africa, as there is no other place with unbroken series of wood stretching from an altitude of 250 meters up to more than 2000 meters. Hike up the Udzungwa Mountains to see the species endemic to the region, and see the majestic waterfalls and swimming in the fresh water hole at the base of the falls.

day 1 - Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve

You will be picked up from the airport or your hotel in Dar es Salaam and drive down south to Selous Game Reserve. The journey will take approximately five hours.

Upon arrival, relax and immerse in your new surroundings before enjoying a delicious, fresh lunch in a beautiful shady spot your camp offers. You will have time to relax for a couple of hours after lunch, before departing for an afternoon boat safari.

The boat safari is superb in the afternoon, watching wildlife come to the water’s edge to drink and getting close to bird colonies, hippos, crocodiles and the spectacular sundown.

day 2 - Selous Game Reserve

After early breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive with picnic lunch in the Selous Game Reserve.

During the game drive, you will have a chance to see many animals common to the area, including elephants, giraffes, lions, buffalos, zebras and even the rare African wild dogs. Before the end of the day, you will return to the camp or lodge for dinner and overnight.

day 3 - Selous Game Reserve

Today, you will enjoy a second day of game drive in Selous Game Reserve.

day 4 - Selous Game Reserve to Mikumi National Park

After early morning breakfast, you will leave Selous with a picnic lunch to enjoy on your way to Mikumi National Park. The drive will take up to eight hours.

day 5 - Mikumi National Park

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at your camp before departing for a full-day of game drive around Mikumi National Park.

The open horizons and plentiful wildlife of the Mkata Floodplain, the popular centrepiece of Mikumi, usually draw frequent comparisons to the famous Serengeti plains. Stop in between the game drive in the afternoon for a picnic lunch, and continue your exploration.

Before the end of the day, you will return to the camp and spend the time relaxing in the swimming pool, evening dinner and overnight.

day 6 - Mikumi National Park to Ruaha National Park

After breakfast, departs to Ruaha National Park from Mikumi. The road travels along the Great Ruaha River up on the high plateau where Iringa is situated. Stop in Iringa for lunch, then proceed to Ruaha. You will reach your destination by late afternoon.

day 7 - Ruaha National Park

After breakfast, set out on a full-day game drive with picnic lunch. Ruaha is the second-largest park and the second-largest elephant sanctuary in Tanzania.

The wide variety of animals that inhabit the park includes greater and lesser kudus, cheetahs, lions, roan and sable antelopes. As a result, Ruaha is an ideal place for spotting wildlife and scenic beauty.

day 8 - Ruaha National Park

Same as yesterday, enjoy a full-day game drive in Ruaha National Park.

day 9 - Ruaha National Park to Udzungwa National Park

After breakfast, depart to Udzungwa National Park via Iringa town, where you will stop for lunch before proceeding to Udzungwa National Park. The rest of the day you will spend relaxing, dinner and overnight at the tented camp.

day 10 - Udzungwa National Park

After breakfast, you will hike the Udzungwa Mountains, see species endemic to Udzungwa, waterfalls and swim in the fresh water hole at the base of the falls.

day 11 - Udzungwa National Park to Dar es Salaam
