Venture into Tanzania’s wildest corners on a 10-day camping safari that weaves together adventure, nature, and culture. Begin at Lake Manyara, famed for big-game sightings, then traverse the iconic Serengeti and the wildlife-rich Ngorongoro Crater, where you may spot elephants, rhinos, and elusive big cats. Witness the region’s biodiversity firsthand, from baboons to hippos. Enrich your journey by meeting the Hadzabe, one of Africa’s last hunter-gatherer groups, along with the Datoga and Barbaig tribes, known for their traditional spear-making skills. day 1 - Kilimanjaro International Airport - Arusha
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport. There, you will be welcomed by an ANAPA company representative who will usher you into a waiting vehicle and transfer you to the hotel in Arusha. Our representative will conduct a short, safari-briefing session with you at the hotel and leave you to relax and have dinner. Stay overnight in Arusha.
day 2 - Arusha - Lake Manyara Park
Have breakfast in the morning at your hotel. Carry your picnic lunch and drive to Lake Manyara National park for game viewing. It will take around 2 hours and 20 minutes to drive to the national park's main gate from your accommodation.
Lake Manyara is ideal for viewing birdlife, with over 400 species of birds found in the park. As well as birds, the national park is also famous for its tree-climbing lions. Have dinner and stay overnight at Panorama Safari Camp.
day 3 - Lake Manyara - Serengeti Park
After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. It takes 4 to 5 hours to reach Serengeti. You also have the option to visit the Olduvai Gorge en route.
Serengeti is Tanzania’s most famous and largest national park as well as one of the most spectacular conservation areas in the world. The endless plains of the park cover some 14,763 square kilometers and include large plains, short-grass plains, kopjes and lakes.
Enjoy some game viewing en route. Have your dinner and stay overnight in Seronera Public Campsite.
day 4 - Serengeti National Park: full-day safari
Enjoy a whole day of safari in Serengeti. Return to your accommodation in the evening. Have dinner and stay overnight in Seronera Public Campsite.
day 5 - Serengeti - Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Wake up early in the morning, at around 6:00 am. Do some game driving in Serengeti. Return to your camp for breakfast at 9:30 am. Drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Ngorongoro is the largest intact crater in the world, abundant with wildlife including elephants, rhinos, cheetahs, lions, leopards, and hyenas. Once you are done viewing the animals, drive to Simba Public Campsite and have your dinner.
day 6 - Ngorongoro Crater floor
Grab your picnic lunch after an early breakfast and start your journey to the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater for game viewing. Ascend from the crater floor late in the afternoon or in the early evening and drive to your camp for dinner and overnight stay.
day 7 - Ngorongoro - Lake Natron
Drive on a rough and dusty patch of road to Lake Natron after breakfast. Enjoy the beauty of the lake and its surrounding areas. See the Ngarasero Escarpment, a number of waterfalls and Oldonyo Lengai Mountain. Enjoy the view of flamingoes in the lake.
You also have the option of going out on a hike to the surrounding areas, which we can arrange upon request. Stay overnight at Lengai Camp.
day 8 - Lake Natron - Lake Eyasi
Take a walk around Natron Lake after breakfast. Drive to Lake Eyasi, home to the Hadzabe people, a reclusive tribe of bushmen who still live as they did 10,000 years ago. The Hadzabe are among the last hunter-gatherers in Africa.
Be fascinated by their clicking language and hunting techniques. Learn more about the tribe and their ways of living. Return to the camp for dinner. Stay there overnight.
day 9 - Lake Eyasi - Tarangire Park
Participate in a hunting-and-gathering exercise with the Hadzabe after an early-morning breakfast. Enjoy your picnic lunch in the afternoon, while driving to Tarangire National Park. Game viewing en route to your camp in Tarangire.
day 10 - Tarangire - Arusha - Kilimanjaro Airport
See the rich wildlife of Tarangire during a morning game-viewing session. Tarangire National Park is a beautiful park filled with baobab and acacia trees and is home to animals such as zebras, elephants, giraffes and waterbucks.
Your trip has come to an end now. Drive to Arusha next. Depending on your plans, you may either extend your stay in Tanzania or transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
