Cycle to the Almada e Cristo Rei statue, overlooking Lisbon city center, on a 3-hour electric bike tour of the southern neighborhoods. Cross the Tagus River, and let your bike take the strain as you climb to the outstetched arms of Christ the King. Meet your group at Praça Martim Moniz for a safety briefing on how the bikes work. Then, bike to the large commercial square of Praça da Figueira, and learn about its mercantile past. Continue along Ruas dos Douradores, passing the site where the poet Fernando Pessoa got the inspiration for his book “Livro do Desassossego.” Admire the ironwork lift of the Santa Justa Elevator en route to Praça Comércio, Lisbon’s largest square. Next, discover the recent developments of Ribeira das Naus, the former shipyard area where many of the Portuguese ships that set sail to discover new worlds were built.
