Our self-guided trek was really well supported. Very helpful information about local bus routes and hiking options (especially regarding tram availability where needed). All accommodations were first rate — warm and welcoming, in good locations. A couple of the hiking stages were more challenging than we expected, but overall a fantastic trek through a spectacular part of the Dolomites.

This trip took us through a sparsely populated area of France, where we saw few people, but saw plenty of old buildings and walked along roman roads through the mountains.
The food and accommodation was excellent and we met some interesting people.
Highlights for us, were the Verdon Gorge and walking along the roman road that climbs through the mountains.
We completed this walk in August, when the temperature was 33 degrees, hot for walking. However, we will return again in the Spring or Autumn.

The week starts inland in Droushia with walks to the Kremiotis Waterfall and the medieval Agia Paraskevi chapel as well as across the Laona Plateau with its picturesque stone-built villages. The Lycian guided walk from Fettiye to Antayla was a wonderful experience with two very capable and personable guides… our leader Egemen and cultural guide Tuncay.
They were wonderful companions as well as expert guides. We were a small group and at times our pace was slow however adjustments were made accordingly. The coastal scenery was sensational and well worth the effort of walking up and down stony tracks! We swam every day, ate terrific authentic Turkish meals and the accomodation was very good. We learnt so much about this historic part of Turkey.
