Absolutely amazing is all I can say. The hike was definitely one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but it was so worth it. Our guides made sure that we had the best overall experience and I would recommend G adventures to everyone! The scenic views throughout the hike were absolutely breathtaking. The food was really good and we had no issues with our accommodations or travel. Thanks again to all the wonderful staff at G adventures that were with us throughout our Journey!
The Journey to Macchu Picchu with National Geographic and G Adventures was so much more than I bargained for. Not only did we see and explore Macchu Picchu, but in the days leading up to the "Big Mountain' we learned so much about the Incan culture and practices from the visits to other lesser-known archeological and cultural sites, that by the time we arrived at the UNESCO World Heritage, Macchu Picchu, I felt that I actually understood this extraordinary site and its significance to the Incan people.
This Lares trek is an excellent alternative to those who missed out on the Inca Trail, and a shorter one too. Join us on this 4-day, guided tour and enjoy traveling off the beaten path. Starting from Cusco, this trek will take you through Calca, Huacawasi, Aruraycocha and Yanahuara before you are on your way to Machu Picchu via Aguas Calientes.
The highlight of the trek probably is Machu Picchu, the famous Inca citadel that you will explore during a two-hour, guided tour on the last day of the tour. However, there is more to this trip than just that. Enjoy the stunning scenery of Peruvian highlands, travel past villages where people still live in adobe and stone houses with thatch roofs. Cross two high passes that are more than 4000m and see beautiful natural landmarks along the way, including the gleaming Laguna Aruraycocha.
Visit to Machu Picchu on the final day of the tour. Combine the cultural heritage and natural beauty of the Peruvian Andes with a trip to the most impressive Inca ruin. For more details, please go through the itinerary below.
Book your place in this guided, 5-day tour and conquer the trail that is a popular alternative to the crowded, classic Inca Trail. The Salkantay Trek offers more distance, more sceneries and a wider variety of landscapes to enjoy and takes you past one of the highest mountain passes in the country.
Start your trek on the very first day of this trip. Conclude your journey with a visit to the iconic monument of Machu Picchu, which you will also get to glimpse on the fourth day of the tour. Avoid the regulations that have been imposed on the Inca Trail. We have designed this itinerary in such a way that it includes many of the highlights of the popular routes in the Salkantay Trek but avoids most of the areas that are fast becoming crowded with tourists.
Book this guided, 5-day tour to explore the Inca heritage of Peru. Starting with a pickup from Cusco's airport, this tour will take you to Aguas Calientes, Pisac, Machu Picchu, Maras and Moray, all of which are must-see places for any traveller in Peru.
Explore Cusco during a guided sightseeing tour and see some of its major landmarks. Visit the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo before heading for Machu Picchu, the famous Inca citadel widely considered to be one of the wonders of the world. Enjoy a guided tour of the citadel.
The itinerary also includes trips to Maras, known for its archaeological ruins, and the salt flats of Moray that have been used to produce salt for centuries now.
Finally, we will drive you to the airport after the trip is over. For more details, please go through the itinerary below.

Follow the Weaver’s Way during this hike, walking through the villages of traditional weavers. Learn more about the lives of the locals as you travel. See the village of Huilloc (3500m), one of the largest communities of those who have descended directly from the Incas. Cross the Wayruruyoc Qasa pass, located at the altitude of 4600m. Admire the beauty of the snow-capped peaks that provide a backdrop to the thatched houses, small farms and herds of alpacas and llamas that you see en route. Take a train to Aguas Calintes from Ollantaytambo. See beautiful sceneries along the way.
Enjoy the awe-inspiring natural beauty of Peruvian highlands and learn more about its rich cultural heritage during this trip. End your journey at the monumental Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. For more information about this tour, please go through the itinerary below.
This was a wonderful trip. Lake Titicaca was stunning. Palccoyo Mountain was beautiful & a great introduction to high altitude walking. But the highlight was walking the Inca Trail & reaching Macchu Picchu. It was worth the 4 days of trekking to get that first glimpse through the sun gate. It was simply stunning. Our guide, Will, was exceptional. He took such great care of everyone in the group & shared the highlights of his wonderful country with us. All of the accommodation was great & the camping whilst on the trail was comfortable. The team of porters & cooks were simply brilliant (so much food!) I hope all of the trek team get a fair wage as the work they do is back-breaking. A couple of tips: go a night or 2 earlier if you want to see a bit of Lima. I flew in a day before the group flight & enjoyed seeing the best of the city (2 days was enough though). I’d also recommend getting the train between Puno & Cusco. It was a stunning journey & such a great way to see this beautiful country. If getting to Macchu Picchu is on your bucket list, do it, you won’t regret it.
Absolutely incredible experience! Our tour guide, Rom, was so patient with our group and provided so much information for each spot! 100% will use this agency again!
Do you want to visit the famous Macchu Picchu but are short on time? This tour takes you to the sacred Macchu Picchu site and back in just one day.
At 5 am we will pick up you from your hotel in Cusco and bring you to the train station in Ollantaytambo. Here is where we board our train to the town of Aguas Calientes. Once in Aguas Calientes, our guide will take you by bus along an upward zigzag path to reach the incredible wonder of the world, Machu Picchu, known as "The Lost City of the Incas".
Once in the citadel of Machu Picchu, you will have a guided tour to visit the main venues of the city including the main plaza, the circular tower, the sacred solar clock, the royal quarters, the temple of the three windows and the cemeteries. The tour will last for more than two hours. At the end of the tour, you will be given free time to stroll around the citadel and visit Machu Picchu on your own. As an option, you can hike to the sun gate or Inca bridge.
After exploring the site, we return to Aguas Calientes for lunch in one of the many restaurants (not included). In the afternoon, we will take the train back to Cusco, arriving at approximately 8 pm.
I met some of the best characters on this group tour, friends for life and had some of the experiences and memories that will live with me forever. The 65 day tour of South America is fast moving and packs so much in. The CEOs from G are the best and are always there to take care of you and the rest of the group, all you have to do is turn up and enjoy your trip

This was by far the best tour we made before heading out to Peru. The trip included getting picked up from Airbnb and dropped off at the Vistadome train station. Then from the train station to the bus up to Machu Picchu. There was always a guide from the tour company waiting for us. We were never left to wander what the next step was. Our guide at Machu Picchu was very knowledgeable on the history of Machu Picchu and was able to answer all our questions. After Machu Picchu it included a lunch buffet which we also enjoyed. Overall we were left with a beyond great experience.
