This trek was a perfect choice for a first introduction to the Himalayas and was great for a schedule that included more sightseeing around Nepal. My guide Dipak was very knowledgeable and flexible being able to cater the trip and make changes to improve as we went. Amazing!!!! If you're looking for an alternative track to Everest Camp, with less crowds and less congestion you won't be disappointed by choosing Gokyo lakes including the Gokyo Ri climb - 5380m! Offering views of crystal clear blue lakes, the largest glacier in the park and ofcourse views of Everest can be seen from here - but not nearly as many tourists on track! The homestays and the families there are very hospital and ensuring that you'll have a warm and comfortable stay. There are a variety of meals to choose from at the home stays with fresh fruit and vegetables - exceptional considering the isolation! Great hospitality with even greater views. The track is a great option too for families / elderly people. I did the track with my mum and it certainly won't be our last time here.

My wife and I completed the Annapurna Circuit plus Tilicho Lake guided by Ramesh and portered by Ramo and the experience was perfect. Ramesh is truly the best guide in the world. Not only is he an encyclopedia and loved sharing information with us while trekking, he was smart, strategic, and patient all throughout the trip. He actively used his experience to guide us on the trek, making changes that would better our chances of crossing the pass and visiting Tilicho lake in the best way possible, which I appreciated. Ramesh is also very friendly and warm, which truly helped, as our experience literally felt like a perfect intertwine between a guided tour and a trek, which we greatly appreciated. To be able to do this at altitude with a variety of personalities, all while being patient must be respected. And I cannot and will not forget our porter Ramo: thank you so much for moving so quickly and efficiently (with our items on your back), better enabling us to lock in certain rooms at various tea houses to help ensure my wife and I rested comfortably throughout the trek. Although I wanted something off the beaten path, I worried this route might not be challenging enough. But I instantly realized this would be a worthy adventure with the warmest hospitality. The trails are generally good, but you should know that the whole trip is generally straight up and down. Make sure you have walking sticks and if youre not used to hiking for several days with a pack you should consider hire a porter to carry your pack.
