One of our Africa Overland Adventures, this tour takes you on an overland journey encompassing many of the incredible landscapes and cultures found in Africa. An incredible trip for any budget, this trip takes you from the calm tropical waters of Zanzibar to the wild Atlantic Ocean of Southern Africa - the contrasts abound. Whether you want to discover the wildlife of the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Etosha National Parks or explore the playgrounds of Victoria Falls and Swakopmund, this is a fantastic adventure tour that will leave memories that last forever.
Note: This is one of our Overland Adventures which are run using one of our specialist famous yellow overland expedition trucks. Trips are run on a participatory basis – you’ll be involved in the day to day running of the trip and have fun taking turns helping to shop and cook for the group. Expect to sometimes get dusty and dishevelled and not to be able to have hot showers every night. Groups of up to 24 people are led by our crew of two.
Please note that the accommodation on this trip is predominantly camping, though there may be opportunities to upgrade this locally where rooms are available. Please see the trip inclusions for an approximate percentage of camping and room nights.
Our Overland Adventures provide once in a life time experiences and whilst some safari activities may be included in the itinerary, or be available to book locally, this should not be considered a traditional safari holiday, though we consider that part of the fun!!

Incredible trip, super organised. The team was perfect, the guides gave everything for us!
Food, hiking, equipment, we missed nothing.
Thanks to this travel specialist, this was an unforgettable experience that we would repeat in a heartbeat.
Join us on the spectacular tour to the most popular dolphin spotting location in Zanzibar –Kizimkazi village, located on the Southern coast of Zanzibar Island, where you can see both bottle-nose and humpback dolphins.
The shallow coastal waters around Kizimkazi are a favorite hangout for dolphins as they come here for the reliable food supply, to nurse their calves, rest and socialize. There are also rather shyer humpback dolphins that sometimes put in an appearance here, although their schedule is a little more erratic.
The dolphin tour is best very early in the morning because in the afternoon as the sun rises, the sea water tends to become warm and the dolphins dive deep down to escape the heat. For guests who are staying in a Stone town hotel, we’ll pick you up from your hotel at 6:30am. It is also possible to do the trip later in the afternoon, but the probability of seeing dolphins is smaller.
The dolphin trip lasts two to three hours. Although dolphin-spotting is a popular activity, sightings aren’t guaranteed 100% and sometimes spottings require time and patience as the animals are in their natural environment.
Kizimkazi is also the site of a 12th-century mosque, the earliest evidence of Islam in East Africa, and is thus worth a visit for both cultural and historical reasons.
The dolphin trip can be combined with Jozani Forest, as the forest is on the way to Kizimkazi; we pass through the forest on the way back from dolphin tour.
Do not miss this chance to explore Southern Africa and its wonders during a 15-day, self-driving trip. After breakfast depart from your Nairobi hotel at 7:00 AM and drive to Hell's Gate National Park with stops at several view points to marvel at the scenic Great Rift Valley escarpment. Hell’s Gate is one of Kenya's smaller national parks, which can be explored on foot or on a bicycle.
Arrive at the gate of Hell's Gate around mid-morning and start the bike tour for two hours within the park. You also have the option to drive instead of cycling.
Animals that can be seen here include Bushbucks, Dikdiks, Giraffes, Gazelles, Gnus, Hartebeests, Impalas, Klipspringers, Buffaloes, Hyraxes, Zebras, Hyenas, Jackals, Mongooses, Baboons, Monkeys and Porcupines amongst others. The park has historically been an important home for the rare lammergeier vultures.
At around 11:00 AM, visit the gorge for 1 hour. Capture beautiful panoramas of the gorge with small depressions of land-mass where you can walk underneath.
12:00 PM: return the bike at the gate on the way to visit the Maasai community.
1:00 PM: Drive for lunch to Naivasha Fishermans' Camp.
2:00 PM: Enjoy a relaxing 1-hour boat ride on Lake Naivasha where you can see some of the local wildlife which includes hippos, buffalo, fish eagles, pelicans and much more.
4:00 PM: Drive back to Nairobi arriving around 6 PM.
End of the tour.
A wonderful and rewarding adventure! One of the most challenging and incredible experience in my life. I was challenged physically, mentally and spiritually! I was most inspired by my guide, Philemon as he saw to my every questioned being answered along the way, and the porters who ensured all the necessities were made available. Whenever I doubted my ability to continue the climb, I would ask these gentlemen how do they accomplish this so often with such ease - the enjoyment they have for their clients to experience this very incredible peace of Africa! I felt such a profound connection to nature, to the ancients, to Africa - and how incredible it was to experience all the different climates in one part of a Holy Land!
Our guide Anthea was excellent. After a driving tour through the downtown sites and a stop at the park near Parliament, we went to Table Mountain where the clouds had cleared and views we beautiful. The Groot Constantia winery lunch & wine tasting were fantastic, and our walking tour through Kirstenbosch Garden & the Tree Canopy memorable.
We Planned for many years to come to Africa and Climb Kilimanjaro, It was a good choice to go with local travel operator, we had best time climbing kili with Danny and Lodrick and all the team members. Godbless was very professional,he answers all of our questions in time ad explain everything about our climb and makes us feel comfortable about the climb, he provided a great customer support it was beyond our expectation. Lodrick and Danny takes a very good care of us on the mountain, they were very knowledgeable and very professional,we were checked every morning and evening to make sure our heartbeat and oxygen in the blood was normal, they had their own first aid and oximeter.
The porters were friendly and carry all of our items, John the chef prepares excellent food and he was very talented. I have come home with many memories thanks to this company. I highly recommend Lemosho route to climb Kilimanjaro.
Whether you're a romantic, a beach-bum or are just looking for the perfect way to end your wildlife safari, this exciting tour of Zanzibar, its exotic beaches and its soothing waters, is just perfect.
Zanzibar is located in the Indian Ocean, just 25 km off the coast of mainland Tanzania. It is famed for its historical Stone Town and some of the most stunning beaches on the planet. We will take you to interesting tours to the House of Wonders, Palace Museums, Mosques and Arab's Fort among many others.
We will also arrange visits to spice plantations, the reason that brought the Sultans of Oman, and what started the slave trade. Indulge in the white sands and clear waters of Kendwa Beach while basking in a cultural gem for a much deserved holiday.
My husband and I decided to climb Kilimanjaro as part of our honeymoon trip to Tanzania. Our tour operator was absolutely brilliant from the word go! Our team, and especially our guides, Rashid and Osmani, went above and beyond to help us reach the summit. They were so friendly, professional and every detail was taken care of - including providing hot water bottles for our sleeping bags in the cold nights. Our guides were only too happy to show us extra insight about the mountain, as well as teaching us some Swahili! We couldn't have made it to the summit without their help and support. All 7 members of the team (porters, chef, waiter, guides) were keen to meet us and even performed a song for us, which was really moving. Although we spent less time with the porters and chef team, when we did see them they were always smiling and keen to talk to us, and did all their tasks with enthusiasm. The level of customer service we experienced was outstanding and we cant think of anything that could have been improved. We will have amazing memories of this trip, thank you so much!! Emma and Chris
The Serengeti is one of those rare places that receives so many accolades, yet it manages to live up to all the hype.
Our tours reveal this larger than life wildlife migration of huge predator concentrations and river crossings, where lion prides, leopards and even cheetahs can be sighted. And we introduce you to the local tribe known as the Maasai in order to engage with them and learn about their culture.
One of the highlights of an experience in Tanzania is the annual Serengeti wildlife migration. Regarded as nature at her most extravagant, it involves hundreds of thousands of wildebeest, zebra and antelope running the gauntlet of predators as they migrate around the Serengeti and through the African ecosystem. It’s survival of the fittest as they plunge through crocodile-infested waters on their annual exodus north.
The Serengeti is Tanzania's oldest national park and was recently proclaimed the 7th wonder of the modern world. Yet even when the wildlife migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant’s gazelle. It's a photographers dream landscape.
Let us take you to Serengeti - front seat and center, to experience it all.

The Rongai route begins at the remote northern side of Kilimanjaro near the Kenyan border. We will be hiking through a true wilderness area towards the jagged Mawenzi Peak then cross a barren desert before climbing up Kibo’s eastern crater wall. The Rongai route is a more slow ascent and is therefore preferred by those with little or no backpacking experience but is equally enjoyable for even the most hardened Kilimanjaro climbers.
During the climb you will have 5 nights of full-service camping, with a private toilet tent. There is a large communal tent, which is used for dining and at other times in the event of inclement weather. Limited single accommodation is also available and includes a single tent as well as the hotel nights.
We can arrange extra accommodation before or after the trip if needed.
