Itinerary
Experience the thrill of a classic safari with the "Full Day Big 5 Safari" tour—an unforgettable wildlife adventure just outside Cape Town, ideal for families and groups seeking a stress-free day in nature. Your journey starts early, as a dedicated guide collects you for a comfortable two-and-a-half-hour ride through the scenic southern Karoo.
Upon arrival at the private 10,000-hectare reserve, fuel up with a hearty breakfast before embarking on an open-top 4x4 safari led by expert rangers. Track Africa’s legendary Big Five—elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, and buffalo—while learning fascinating facts about the local flora and fauna. You’ll also have the chance to spot other wildlife and enjoy the stories that bring the bush to life.
Round out your experience with a delicious buffet lunch and cool off in one of the reserve’s swimming pools before heading back to Cape Town. The tour package includes round-trip transport, meals, and the option to try quad biking or horseback riding for an extra dose of excitement. The unique selling point? An accessible, all-inclusive safari day tour designed for families and groups wanting an authentic African wildlife encounter without overnight commitments.

Not as advertised
Nothing like the pictures suggested. The animals are all in large enclosures - basically a drive through zoo - not a safari at all. A large open area where you can see for miles so there is no excitement in finding animals. The giraffes were being fed so the guide knew where they were, the 2 elephants were skinny and out of place - definitely not their natural environment, they were eating small bushes instead of trees. Same with the rhinos - they are natural grazers but there are only bushes to eat. The lions were enclosed far away from everything else and not roaming free at all - again, exactly where the guides could find them. The only good thing was that we have never seen a rhino that up close before, there were beautiful views on the 2hr drive over to the farm and we saw a baby springbok - but again, shows that nothing is in their natural state since no springbok would leave their young so out in the open. This is only for people that have no idea what it is really like to see wild animals on a real safari. There are better choices.
