Spanning the diverse landscapes of Egypt, Jordan, and Israel, the "Contrasts of Jerusalem, Jordan and Egypt" city sightseeing tour is a 17-day journey ideal for seniors seeking an easy, comprehensive exploration. Starting in Jerusalem and wrapping up in Cairo, the itinerary features essential stops like the Dead Sea, Amman, and Aswan, along with seven other captivating destinations. With accommodations, transport, and meals covered, you can focus on the wealth of experiences across three countries. The tour’s unique appeal is its harmonious blend of spiritual, historical, and scenic sites, all accessible at a relaxed, enjoyable pace.
We begin our journey in Amman, Jordan, with an arrival transfer and free time before we explore the ancient Roman city of Jerash and Amman's key historical sites, including the Citadel and Roman Theatre, the following day. Day two also includes a local street food experience and an evening visit to the Wild Jordan Centre. Our journey then continues south along the scenic King's Highway, where we stop at the historical sites of Madaba, Mount Nebo, and Shobak Castle en route to Petra. We dedicate an entire day to discovering the magnificent Nabataean city of Petra, walking through the Siq to marvel at the Treasury and exploring other tombs and monuments, with options like Petra by Night or a cookery class available to us the previous evening.
Following Petra, our adventure takes us into the striking desert landscapes of Wadi Rum, where we stay overnight at a Bedouin camp, complete with a traditional meal and an included Jeep safari the next morning; optional activities like camel rides or hot air ballooning are also offered. We conclude the Jordanian segment of our trip with a journey to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth, where we have ample time to float in the hypersaline waters and experience the therapeutic mud, before we transfer to Amman airport on day six.
We then transition to Egypt with a flight from Amman to Cairo (note: this flight cost is not included). Upon arrival in Cairo, we begin our exploration with the iconic Giza Plateau, visiting the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx, followed by trips to the ancient capital Memphis and the Step Pyramid at Saqqara. An early flight takes us to Luxor, the ancient Thebes, where we explore the West Bank's treasures, including the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, and the Colossi of Memnon, before boarding our 5-star Nile cruise ship. In the evening, we enjoy an illuminated tour of Luxor Temple. Our cruise continues with a visit to the vast Karnak Temple complex as we sail upstream towards Aswan, stopping at the well-preserved Temple of Edfu and the unique double temple of Kom Ombo along the way.
In Aswan, our highlights include an optional early morning excursion to the magnificent temples of Abu Simbel, taking a traditional Felucca sailboat ride on the Nile, visiting the relocated Philae Temple complex, and stopping at the Aswan High Dam. Afterwards, we fly back to Cairo for our guided tour of the world-renowned Egyptian Museum, home to Tutankhamun's treasures. Our final full day offers free time or an optional tour covering Coptic Cairo, the Citadel, and the Khan el-Khalili bazaar. We conclude our tour on day thirteen with free time in Cairo before our departure transfer to the airport.
Accommodation is in comfortable mid-range hotels in Jordan, Bedouin tents with proper beds in Wadi Rum, 5-star hotels in Cairo and a 5-star Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan.

I have spent the last 3 days visiting Abydos & Dendara (1 day) and Luxor (2 days) with my guide Ahmed Haggag Ali.
First of all, I would highly recommend Abydos to anyone (even if it is way out of any route, +3h by car from Luxor). Abydos is truly a special place, thanks to its colorful paintings and design. And Ahmed provided me with all the history and explanations related to this temple. He knows eveything!! He has been able to answer all of my questions so far (and believe me, I have had a lot!) We later had a delicious 'fuul' in a local restaurant (see pic).
Luxor is, of course, a must see if you plan to visit Egypt. I spent one day in the east bank and another in the west bank. The Karnak and Luxor temples on the East bank are fascinating, and the Valley of the Kings in the West bank has beautiful tombs. Of the 3 tombs I visited, Ramses III was my favourite, extremely colorful. If you have the budget, I also recommend the hot air balloon trip, which is just breathtaking.
I will spend 3 more days with my guide Ahmed Haggag Ali to visit Edfu & Kom Ombo, Aswan and Abu Simbel, and I am very much looking forward to it!

Immerse yourself in the beauty of Chefchaouen, a city in the Rif Mountains that is swathed in blue, and visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis. My wife and I had recently completed our second guided trip and it was everything that we had expected. Provided us with a great tour and adventure on the 11-day "Discovery of Morocco". Our tour guide was a very professional, knowledgeable, passionate and likable individual. The bus driver for our tour was also awesome and provided our small intimate group with much safety and great stops along the way. I would highly recommend taking this guided tour to Morocco.
One of the best trips I have done for ages. Mohamed was an amazing guide - not only knowledgeable but also great at helping us to navigate travelling in Egypt and at arranging things so that it all flowed smoothly and easily.
It is an amazing itinerary, especially if you allow for including as many of the optional excursions as you can - an intense ten days with a huge amount packed in without feeling rushed. Hotels were all good (and well located), as was the boat and the food. The sleeper train was probably the low point - not all that comfortable and poor food - but it made the best use of the time in terms of travelling and it's only for one night. Despite tensions elsewhere in the Middle East, this never felt unsafe in any way.
Overall, an amazing trip and well worth going. Thanks to Mohamed and all at Explore!
