Great trip, ticked all the right boxes. Especially glad of the tour leader Ester Galindo, very knowledgeable and professional, adapting to changing circumstances to keep everyone happy and a great laugh as well

It was enjoyable trip, covering different parts of the island. There was time on some days for a paddle or swim, and always a cafe at the end of the walk!! The transport was excellent and always prompt. There was a pool at the hotel, so odd times early return to hotel allowed for a dip. The kitchen arrangement in each bedroom with a fridge made it convenient for making hot drinks and lunches. The leader was excellent and very aware of each person when on rough terrain.

Best explore trip ever, with best guide ever. The mix of activity and visits could not have been better balanced. Full on without being exhausting. I personally would have liked more time at the mountain museum but appreciate others might not. Our guide, Udaya, did his utmost to accommodate those that found the walking a challenge, (even though the trip notes clearly described what to expect). Udaya’s knowledge, enthusiasm and clear love of his country enhanced the trip, even on the long bus journeys there was regular commentary on what we were seeing and short stops of interest. He had concern for our welfare and even joined in with us in a hotel Christmas cake mixing competition after our trip had officially ended. This whole experience will take some beating.

Good trip, wonderful scenary. Really good infrastructure for walking in the trails. It should have been a walk at the Fiordland National Park (close to Wilford Sound) We just did a really small portion towards Marian Lake. It would have been different from the other trails that we did

I loved my walking holiday in Madeira. The walks along the levadas and through the forests were beautiful with stunning views everywhere you look. Most hikes were uncrowded so there was a real sense of tranquility. The terrain was mainly flat, (although there were a couple of steep inclines and descents) so very 'doable'. I was there in early November when the weather was warm and sunny at lower levels, but cooler on the higher ground. Our guide Joao was brilliant. He took great care of us and gave us so much information about the island, its history and the flora and fauna. I really enjoyed the trip and highly recommend it to others.

João Camara was our guide for the 7 day walking in Madeira trip & he was excellent. Friendly, knowledgeable, personable, & funny. The levada walks, mountain treks, & other hikes we did, were all manageable, some more challenging than others, with varying terrains & outstanding scenery. The 3 different hotels all suited our purposes, & were very comfortable. We had lots of great meals, & the multi-nationality group were a really good bunch of people. I absolutely loved Madeira, it's a beautiful place, & thoroughly enjoyed the walking. I would recommend it to anyone.
