TFD: Walking in Crete

A great trip including coastal hikes, mountains, beaches, and ancient history.

Great trip which really showcased the Julian alps. Lovely walks with options for dessert and/or hot chocolate. 10 minute walk from hotel to fabulous gelato.

Walking in Slovenia provided a different walking experience each day and it was very easy to get around on the break days. The walk is based in the most beautiful, relaxed and peaceful town, Bohinj. Our leader Lisa clearly loves her country and was fun to be around. The hotel was in a great location and the staff were very friendly and welcoming and catered for our group really well.

Everything went exactly as planned. Fiore Tours was an excellent provider - the best accommodations we've had on these tours so far. Green Istria is something to be seen!

We had a great trip. There were many connections, etc. that could have gone wrong but everything was like clockwork! Tours were awesome and especially all the Croatian people.

There was more hiking involved than advertised: I avoided the activities officially labeled as hikes, which stiill left traipsing over often hard-to-access ancient sites. I'm really glad I saw them, but maybe include a heads-up for people with balance or mobility issues, urge proper footwear and walking sticks. In particular, make it very clear that walking down Pamukkale (an absolute must!) is best done in diving socks and with bacpack for shoes. I signed up late and the trip notes I got made no mention of it, though other people said they were told of it. In fact, the notes I received were clearly for a winter trip. All that suggests to me a degree of sloppiness at your main office. I suggest going to Ephesus first thing in the morning to beat the cruiseship crowds. Drop the picnic at Kayaköy: who wants to picnic an hour after breakfast amidst ruins of ethnic cleansing.? If feasible, include more Ottoman sights.
