Santiago De Compostela Walking Trips

Just brilliant! I can't recommend this trip enough. It was tough going at times but all worthwhile when we eventually marched into Santiago in glorious sunshine. Our guide, Rocio, was beyond brilliant. She was so supportive, set the pace to suit everyone and kept us all going when people were struggling towards the end of the day (usually me). She helped us all in so many ways over the 12 days and always with great efficiency, competence and good humour. Nothing was EVER a problem. It was truly a fantastic experience, not always easy but the people you meet, the sights you see and great sense of achievement when you are done make it all worthwhile. So, if you are reading this and thinking should I/can I/will I do the Camino – DO IT. I promise you won't regret it.

We really loved our Coastal Camino walk. It was beautiful to walk through lots of historic towns and visit many beautiful beaches on the first few stops. The hotels were all good and the one in Lestrove and sensational. The only day which we found tough was walking into Vigo on a very hot day as it seemed like many streets of industrial/suburban walking the last 5 km. Overall a wonderful experience and wish we had done 14 days instead of 12!

My daughter and I completed the 8-day Camino trip and loved it! The accommodation at each destination was clean and comfortable and, in some cases, very boutique and gorgeous. All breakfasts and dinners were terrific; it's always a holiday treat, not having to cook. We especially loved having our bags dropped each day at the next venue. But of course, the main reason we were there was to walk the Camino and that was all we hoped it would be. The stunning countryside, beautiful villages, amazing old churches, cobbled streets, fields of corn, tall gum trees, pilgrims, pilgrim passport stamps, farmyard smells, beautiful silent forests and small streams of clear water, all made for a magical journey. They were so efficient, answering all our questions before the trip and providing excellent information with our booking. Everything ran seamlessly, which gave us a lot of peace of mind.

Our guide Pablo was an amazing guide. He made everyone feel happy and relaxed and went over and above to make sure we had a wonderful experience on the Camino. His knowledge was amazing and he was so happy to share this with us. The accomodation was wonderful the whole way and the food was wonderful too.

The Explore leader was excellent and provided way more services than expected. The trip began with a slow start in that none of our fellow travelers received the promised shuttle from the airport and had to make our own way to the first hotel. This is where we first met our Explore leader, Jessica. I did not expect any more from Explore than a once a day briefing on our route but Jessica looked after us like a mother hen looking after chicks. She kept track of who was leading and who was lagging. Escorted the willing on side trips to visit churches or monuments, directed us to pharmacies, restaurants, laundries. Arranged for taxis for those that needed them and followed up to make sure that the taxi had actually arrived etc. She was outgoing and personable and made what turned out to be the hottest week in a century more tolerable.
