Great guides

"I did the 4 Days / 3 Nights Inca Trail with José as our main guide and Carlos as his sidekick. José gave great explanations and history lessons about Inca culture and the ruins. He knew all the spots (for pictures, breaks) and provided the best itinerary to make this a memorable experience (sunrise at Machu Picchu). Big love to all the porters, because without them this trek would not be possible in this way. The food was really good and plenty to feed all the hungry hikers. I would recommend going with this tour operator to hike this trail. However one thing I would like to note is that fair compensation to everybody involved (porters!!!, chef, guides) should be improved to reduce the additional tipping culture. Of course all tips are always voluntary, but if there is specific guidelines with recommended amounts from the company how much to tip you know the baseline salary is probably not enough and it feels very forced upon the tourists to be the bad/good guy. I also felt the suggested amounts were quite high for an already quite expensive tour. Go Super Hikers and Green Machine -!"

Stellar Service, Stunning Views

Pepe (main guide) and Yhon (assistant guide) were highly professional, helpful, patient, and informative. They provided a wealth of information about the region’s history, culture, and natural landscape. Not only that, they were very extremely attentive to our needs and safety, such as by constantly looking out for signs of altitude sickness and accompanying both the front and back of the pack. The chef and the assistant cooks provided us with fantastic meals, many of which included local delicacies — always adjusted to dietary needs (vegetarian in our case). Last but not least, the porters never disappointed and operated smoothly even in moments of staffing shortage. All in all, terrific service with a great group in a beautiful landscape that stunningly transitions from an alpine to forest biome, culminating in the beautiful and unforgettable sight of Machu Picchu. Would absolutely recommend this company and their guides!

Excellent

Perfect!! Cesar did a fantastic job. The porters and cooks did a fantastic job. All the staff were so friendly and accommodating!! My brother used G adventures years ago and recommended them to us. And I will do the same for anyone looking. Thank you Odi, Cesar, cooks and ports for making our adventure better than we thought we could have! Thanks G Adventures!

Absolutely Amazing Trek With Alpaca

Firstly, I rarely take the time to write reviews. I was extremely impressed by every aspect of my trek with this tour company, from pre-hike information and briefings to every aspect of the 4day 3night Inca Trail hike. The guide, Rolando, was incredibly knowledgable, flexible, patient, kind, and encouraging. He allowed hikers to go at their own pace, making sure porters were there to keep an eye on those who weren't directly in his site. The meals were enormous and delicious! I'd never done a multi-day trek before and this company definitely spoiled us...waking us up with coca tea, providing us with warm water to wash up, and a tent set up with a table and chairs for meals. The entire staff was excellent. I should note two situations that arose that they managed perfectly. The first is that I sprained my ankle just 2 weeks before the hike. The staff was quick with their communication and creative with providing alternative experiences to still be able to see Machu Picchu. Luckily, in the end I was still able to do the hike. When the hike was over, we sat down for lunch and were notified that the train personnel was striking so we'd either have to wait until tomorrow to hopefully catch a train then or hike another 2 hours to another town where the tour company's minivan would have access to pick us up. We were very thankful that we were with such a great reputable company because they provided us with a solution to get back the same day, which other hikers did not have. All in all, I can't say enough positive things about this company. They are really top notch.

Good tour

"Lizandro and Valentine were our guides for the tour and they were the best. Walter was our head chef. All the positives of the trip on why this is a 5 star review * lizandro and valentine always told us exactly what to expect the day before. A 45 min hike is a 45 min hike. * they told us how to be first to get into machu picchu and we were the first ones. We got great photos while everyone else had to wait in line at the sun gate. * when we were missing an air matress to needed more toilet paper (absolute necessity) they hooked it up. Problem solved. * I never liked history, but they kept the infosessions interesting. Learning about all the Inca ruins. If I saw them myself, it would've just been a cool structure. But they educate you on the purpose, timelines, etc. * they were willing to listen to extra requests from the group and accommodate them, which I think is absolutely extraordinary. One of the members from our group wanted to stray from the itinerary and they accommodated her for it. * the camping experience was made easy. Porters carried duffle bags for you which allowed you to pack light on the hike. They also set up the tents and took it down so it's minimal touch. * the food that was cooked which was breakfast lunch and dinner was gourmet. We had 4-5 dishes of different foods for each meal. Enough to keep everyone full, and the food tasted phenomenal * hikes were rough, but the guides knew exactly when to take stops to let everyone take a breath. When times were tough a break was taken to drink water and remove a layer of clothing * the recommendations for layers were spot on. If they say to wear a jacket and hat it means so. They knrw when the sun was coming up so they also knew when to keep your clothes on or take it off. * they were amazing photographers where they knew all the spots to take a photo. Cons * camp bathrooms were always dirty (but our guides made sure we made it to camp first and that's when bathrooms were cleanest)"

The Salkantay trek has been the highlight of my trip to Peru. The trek was incredible and very safe, the team always takes care of everybody. The views of the snow-capped mountains were stunning and I loved the tour to Machu Picchu, it was magic. The guide and its team made an excellent job. I had a great time!
