All the highlights, beautiful - enjoyed every place we experienced. The dinners prepared by local families in their homes were incredible. Tango experience unforgettable. Saw lots of wildlife. Top notch guide (makes all the difference) local guides exceptional as well. Travelled many places but the entire trip we were surrounded by incredible beauty everywhere we went. Food was excellent as was our lodging. Lucky to see Patagonia and all her glory.
I will and I am proud to tell my friends n colleagues about South America, namely Argentina, Chile and also Patagonia and only to travel w Tarfalgar
Awe inspiring landscapes, good activities. It covers a very large area and so unavoidably involves a lot of flights and early mornings. Where else do you get breathtaking mountains, glaciers, fjords and penguins! Hotels with one exception were excellent. Fabulous travel director and informative guides.
I felt it had adequate activities and free time. I was surprised the 80 years old kept up. I felt some of the hikes were a little rushed. Since, the guides were the experts there must of been a reason to keep us on pace.
The tour director, was great. She did the best she could with the terrible position Trafalgar put her in. Some of the activities were very good and some were lame. The logistics were absolutely horrendous! Three months before departure, Trafalgar cancels our trip and we have to change our vacation days and flights. 6 weeks before departure, Trafalgar changes the itinerary removing the most important part of the trip we chose it for. In the first city, we have to stand in line for an hour to book the optional tours in the next city and had to have Argentianian cash or PayPal to pay for them. NO ONE ever told us that ahead of time so people are trying to download PayPal or go to cash machine for cash. It was a nightmare and wasted everyone's time. Trafalgar also changed out the hotels from $600/night to $200/night and put us in the most disgusting "hotel" which was a glorified hostel in Port Natales for 4 nights. Completely unacceptable! Finally, instead of a 3 hr direct flight from Port Natales to Santiago where everyone had a late night flight back to the US or Australia, Trafalgar puts us in a bus for 3 1/2 hours over a terrible road that is under contruction to another city which also has direct flights to Santigo. But no, they put us on a 5 hour flight with a stop in another city and then we have to get off and our flight is cancelled so everyone misses their flights home. Absolutely UNBELIEVABLE. Any of the direct flights...there were 5.... from Port Natales would have put us in Santiago before noon and instead we got in at 4 am the next day!! And only because our tour director worked diligently with the airline people to bring in another plane for a 1:40 am departure. We advised Trafalgar 4 weeks before departure that the hotel in Port Natales was under constuction and reviews were horrendous and people were moving hotels it was so bad. Trafalgar said it was fine and chose to ignore all our input and stuck us all there anyway. It was under construction and the bathrooms were disintegrating. It was disgusting. Finally, at least half the people on the tour had taken Traflagar tours previously and no one had ever been on a tour with 35 people. It was totally unwieldy and I am sure was the cause of the itinerary and hotel changes. I WILL NEVER TAKE A TRAFALGAR TOUR AGAIN AND WILL ENSURE AMERICAN EXPRESS AND AAA WHO RECOMMENDED IT ARE AWARE OF THE POOR CHOICES TRAFALGAR MAKES. There has been no apology or refund offered to compensate for these terrible decisions and the savings they must have had consolidating two tours and choosing inferior hotels and flights.
