Your day begins with an early morning departure from Rome, into the heart of Umbria. Your first stop is the enchanting, walled town of Assisi, where you can wander its medieval streets and admire the legendary frescoes by Giotto and Cimabue in the Basilica of St. Francis. After an independent lunch, you'll proceed to the dramatic hilltop city of Siena, a UNESCO site famous for its historic Palio horse race held in the magnificent Piazza del Campo. The day concludes as you arrive in the Renaissance jewel of Florence for a welcome dinner and a restful overnight stay. .
