Itinerary

Picture yourself exploring the sun-drenched wonders of Sicily and Malta on an 11-day trip that expertly blends ancient history, dramatic landscapes, and Mediterranean charm. Starting in Catania and concluding in the storied streets of Valletta, this small-group guided tour is tailored for experienced travelers seeking a relaxed yet enriching pace.

Begin your journey in Taormina, the jewel of Sicily. Marvel at the stirring presence of Mt. Etna, Europe’s most active volcano, before diving into the archaeological riches of Syracuse—where Roman amphitheaters and Greek temples tell tales of civilizations past. A stop at the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento unveils some of the world’s most impressive Greek ruins, including the iconic Temple of Concordia.

A coastal boat tour from Taormina to Giardini Naxos offers breathtaking vistas of the Ionian Coast, with the possibility of glimpsing the mystical Grotta Azzurra. The adventure continues to the Aeolian Islands, a UNESCO World Heritage site where volcanic landscapes and centuries-old villages on Lipari and Vulcano provide a true sense of discovery.

Crossing over to Malta, you’ll begin in Valletta, the vibrant capital. A guided walking tour reveals Republic Street, Castille Square, and the serene Upper Barrakka Gardens, with plenty of opportunities to savor authentic Maltese street food. Explore the medieval allure of Mdina, Malta’s ‘Silent City’, where narrow streets and panoramic views evoke timeless wonder. The trip concludes with a visit to the dramatic Dingli Cliffs and the tranquil San Anton Botanical Gardens, celebrated for their lush greenery and calming ambiance.

The unique selling point of this tour lies in its seamless journey across two Mediterranean islands, blending UNESCO-listed sites, ancient ruins, and natural beauty—perfect for experienced travelers who appreciate a relaxed pace and a sophisticated, insightful exploration. From volcanoes and archaeological marvels to hidden gardens and coastal vistas, every day offers a new chapter in the story of the Mediterranean.

The booking porocess was easy, and customer service was responsive. I contacted 4 companies about the tour I was interested in. Two of the companies I contacted didn't answer me at all. One of them was basically a chatbot that said "do it yourself." Only bookmundi had human agents to help.
