From ancient fortresses to lush tea plantations, the "Sri Lanka Spice Trails" tour package invites travelers to experience the island’s diverse wonders by bike. Over 12 days, this guided cycling journey starts on the palm-fringed coast of Negombo and ends in Colombo, traversing the heart of Sri Lanka’s famed cultural triangle, highland tea estates, and wildlife-rich jungles.
Pedal through timeless landscapes as you explore UNESCO sites like Sigiriya Lion Rock and the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, then wind your way to Kandy, home to the country’s most sacred Buddhist temple. Ascend into the misty highlands where tea bushes carpet the hills and the air is scented with spices. Test your legs on climbs above 1,500 meters, then descend into the wilds of Udawalawe National Park, where a safari jeep ride gives you the chance to spot herds of elephants in their natural habitat.
The journey concludes with coastal rides past cinnamon estates, white-sand beaches, and the colonial charm of Galle Fort before reaching bustling Colombo. Throughout the trip, you’ll savor aromatic local dishes and unwind in comfortable accommodations, all while enjoying the camaraderie of a small group.
What sets this trip apart is its holistic approach—cycling through history, nature, and culture with each pedal stroke. The unique selling point: a comprehensive exploration of Sri Lanka’s spice-scented landscapes, offering both active adventure and authentic encounters for travelers eager to see the island in depth.
Great way to see Sri Lanka. Wonderful guides.
Excellent combination of biking, visiting sites and eating local foods. A great way to see the country.
We have been on at least a dozen cycling adventure rides and Mr Chandima and his team were by far the best guide and support we have ever had.
An extraordinary trip featuring lush scenery, back road cycling, art & culture, and adventure. Best trip ever.
Sri Lanka is an amazingly beautiful country with equally amazing people and beautiful people. I have taken many cycling tour in Asia and Chan was by far the best leader I have had the pleasure of riding with.
The best guide ever - Chan. Having taken bike trips with other companies, I can say this was the best. The trip would not have been the same without Chan and his team leading the group. Knowledgeable, funny, and working tirelessly to make this a dream trip. Showing what his beautiful country and its people have to offer. In a word, go! And, ask for Chan. We also loved the rafting trip and a cooking demonstration at a local residents' home.
Cycling tour with this agency provided a great introduction to Sri Lanka and its friendly people. The entire crew was very personable and professional. All accommodations were very comfortable with food choices to satisfy everyone. Cycling was the main event but visits to historical sites, game reserves and even an exciting river raft enhanced the experience
Great way to see the sights, hear the sounds, and smell the scents of Sri Lanka. Being on bikes made us accessible to the local residents, and they were as friendly as anywhere I've traveled.
We have recently finished the Sri Lanka tour with the tour operator and enjoyed it immensely. The scenery was beautiful and the cycling was very enjoyable. Our guides and support staff were excellent and they couldn't do enough to help you. The ride up to Hatton was challenging and does demand a fair degree of fitness in the heat, but it was worth the energy when you arrived. Everyone rides at their own pace and the back up vehicles are ever present. This is one of the best holidays we have ever had and I highly recommend this tour operator if you are considering a truly memorable cycling holiday. Sri Lanka is an incredibly beautiful country with equally beautiful people!
Great guides, great routes, great food and great people to share the adventure with!
