Sri Lanka Bicycle Trips

Awesome tour of the main sites of Sri Lanka through the eyes of cycling the backroads. Definitely recommend this trip. Wonderful insight into the country, people, food, smells and sounds. And a special mention to the tremendous guide Ashan and his support team of cycle guides and drivers. Professional and enthusiastically helpful at all times. 10 out of 10 from me.

Cham was an excellent guide, with a great knowledge of history, culture and nature. The activities were all very good, particularly the white water rafting. A couple of quite long days though

This really is a full and active trip. Cycling gave an ‘up close’ experience and the water based activities were all great fun. The food in the local places that we ate was superb although the food in the larger hotels was less interesting. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and as a female travelling alone I felt completely safe throughout. I’ve come home feeling that I have experienced Sri Lanka at its best and the people are so friendly and welcoming. Early mornings, long days and activity were central to this ‘holiday’ but if you’re up for that then you’ll have a fabulous time.

The Sri Lanka cycling tour was incredible. I’ve travelled to many countries and enjoyed them. To immerse myself in this particular country, courtesy of Explore, cycling amongst lush countryside, with friendly people and tasty food, was an exhilarating experience. I would recommend it to anyone. We cycled 480kms. The tour group was friendly and a great team to be with. Just one recommendation: upgrade the bikes.

We arrived in Columbo to rain to be met by our smiling guide for the trip who introduced himself as Suresh. From there on, everyday was different, due to the time of year the weather was a little chilly in the hills but improved greatly as we descended to the lower levels. Suresh was amazing and everyday, he showed us something different and made sure our holiday experience was amazing. Suresh's ability to spot wildlife on our cycling trips was unbelievable, almost as if he had planted the wildlife!!. I have taken some amazing photographs from the holiday and Suresh has provided us with his amazing photographs also. Suresh always seemed to go out of his way to make our holiday experience better and better, he is a star. The whole team was incredible, nothing was too much trouble and they were always looking out for our best interests, including keeping us safe. Best Exodus cycling trip yet, amazing wildlife, amazing Sri Lankan experiences, amazing leader, amazing team.

This was a wonderful tour. My sixth trip with Explore and my best. Our excellent tour leader, Cham, was both knowledgeable and went out of his way to be helpful and the Sri Lankan people were invariably friendly, welcoming and polite. Sri Lanka is so diverse it has attractions for everyone from tropical surf beaches to hiking in the mountains, rainforest and tea plantation hill country, visiting the temples and stupas of ancient cities to safari trips in the national parks, plus a high standard of hotels and some wonderful cuisine. My one gripe was although we stayed in some luxury hotels with swimming pools and great views, the itinerary was so full on that we often had very little time to enjoy the hotel. But I realise, you can't have it both ways!
