Itinerary
Southern Italy’s raw beauty unfolds before your eyes on the "Italy Coast to Coast by E-bike: Puglia to Amalfi Coast" tour, an eight-day bicycle journey designed for experienced travelers eager for a new perspective. Starting in Monopoli and finishing in Sorrento, this moderate-level cycling trip combines the thrill of traversing mountain passes with the ease of an e-bike, making the adventure accessible yet rewarding. Pedal through the stone streets of Matera, the dramatic landscapes of Basilicata and Campania, and the postcard-worthy village of Castelmezzano. The grand finale? A scenic ride along the legendary Amalfi Coast, where each curve reveals breathtaking sea views. The tour’s standout feature is the blend of iconic and off-the-beaten-path destinations, offering both cultural immersion and natural spectacle. With all logistics—accommodation, meals, and expert guidance—taken care of, cyclists can focus on savoring Italy’s flavors, history, and unforgettable landscapes.
day 1Adventure starts in the coastal city of Monopoli
Begin your adventure in the historic coastal city of Monopoli. Depending on when the group arrives, we might have time for a relaxing stroll through the town’s narrow alleys and along the Adriatic shore.
Around 6:30pm, say ciao to your tour leader and fellow travellers, when we gather as a group for the first time to get to know each other and learn more about the adventures ahead.
Your tour leader then ensures a big Italian welcome by arranging a group dinner.
We strongly recommend arriving a day or two early to visit some of the other regional highlights, including the Unesco-listed town of Alberobello, home to trulli (traditional stone huts with conical roofs), or Ostuni, known as the White City for its whitewashed old town. Secure pre-tour hotel nights through your sales representative.
day 2Ride through fields and ancient olive groves to the UNESCO city of Matera
day 3Challenging ride into the heart of Basilicata to the mountainside village of Castelmezzano
day 4Cross the border into Campania by bike and reach Padula
day 5Ride to Corleto Sant'Angelo and spend a night in an agriturismo
day 6Cycle to the coastal town of Paestum; visit the excellently preserved Greek temples
day 7Train ride to Salerno; cycle one of the most spectacular coastal roads in the world to Sorrento via Amalfi
day 8Adventure ends in Sorrento
