From Hanoi’s bustling streets to the mystical temples of Angkor, the Heritage Line of Vietnam and Cambodia tour invites travelers—especially seniors and experienced explorers—to immerse themselves in Southeast Asia’s most captivating sights. Over 18 days, journey through Vietnam’s historical marvels, including a Ha Long Bay cruise, a cable car ascent on Fansipan Mountain, and a Mekong Delta boat tour. The adventure continues in Cambodia, where Phnom Penh’s poignant history and the awe-inspiring grandeur of Angkor Wat await. With expertly guided tours, rich cultural experiences, and seamless travel between iconic destinations, this trip’s unique selling point is its comprehensive exploration of both countries, ensuring you witness the full spectrum of heritage, nature, and architecture that define Vietnam and Cambodia.
day 1 - Welcome to Vietnam
Your Vietnam adventure begins with your arrival in Hanoi, Vietnam. Your private driver will meet you at the airport, holding a signboard with your name. He will escort you to your accommodation right in the heart of the city. You can easily explore the city at your own pace or relax at the hotel after the flight.
day 2 - Ha Long Bay – Surprising Cave – Ti Top Island
Hotel pick-up at 8.00–8.30 am and transfer to Ha Long Bay. Take a boat trip to explore one of the world’s great natural wonders, cruising the thousands of limestone islands filled with caves of all shapes and sizes.
At around 12.15 pm, hop on board Cozy Bay Cruise. Enjoy your welcome drink and get a brief introduction about cruise and safety guidelines. Check in to your air-conditioned cabin and set sail. Indulge on a special lunch featuring traditional Vietnamese dishes while cruising in the magnificent Ha Long Bay, admiring the fascinating rock formations in the bay.
At around 3:00 pm, visit Sung Sot Cave and then head to Ti Top Island. Climb to the viewpoint which affords splendid views all around Ha Long Bay. You can also enjoy a swim in the refreshing waters.
Embark on the cruise at around 5:15 pm, freshen up, and relax on the sundeck, watching the sun set while drinking a cocktail or reading a book. There will be a sunset party and a cooking class at around 6:00 pm. Dinner is served shortly, and later in the evening, take part in fun activities like karaoke, dancing, and fishing.
day 3 - Halong Bay – Kayak – Pearl Farm – Back Hanoi
Wake up early to catch the magnificent view of sunrise from the sundeck. Enjoy your breakfast and get ready to explore Ha Long Bay on a kayak. Visit the nearby pearl farm and learn about the process of farming and retrieving pearls.
Return to the cruise at around 10:00 am, freshen up, and enjoy your lunch while sailing back to the harbor. You will disembark at Tuan Chau Harbor at around noon and head back to your hotel in Hanoi.
day 4 - Hanoi – Sapa – Cat Cat Trek
Today, at around 7:00 am, you will be picked up at your hotel and transferred to Sapa. You will arrive in Sapa just in time for lunch. After you have rested and settled in to your hotel, you will visit Cat Cat village, which requires a light trek. While there, you can try the local apple wine or purchase a hand-woven blanket. You will also have some leisure time to explore Sapa town. In the evening, you are free to relax and enjoy your own activities.
day 5 - Trekking Through Lao Chai – Ta Van Villages
After breakfast, start a 3.5- hour trek to visit Lao Chai – Ta Van village (trek 10km), exploring the local ethnic minorities life, admire the spectacular natural scenery with the terraced rice fields.
Visit Sapa’s ancient rock formations with engraved images big and small, the unique patterns of the ancients, as well as admire the picturesque bridge to the clouds clear over the Muong Hoa stream.
Lunch at restaurant in the middle of village and return to hotel in Sapa around 2.00 pm. The rest of the day you are free to explore on your own.
day 6 - Conquer Fansipan Mountain – Transfer to Hanoi
Accompanied by a local guide, you will drive toward Fansipan cable car station at your hotel at around 9:00. This cable car travels up to Fansipan Mountain in Sapa, and it happens to be one of the world’s longest and highest cable cars, running up from sleepy Sapa Town in Lao Cai Province to the peak of Fansipan Mountain (3,143 m).
Enjoy the view from the highest point of this incredible mountain. The lush green and subtropical vegetation make this mountain really very beautiful. Take some pictures for unforgettable experience from the top. After taking in the scenery, take the cable ride back down.
At around 2:30 pm, we take a bus to travel back to Hanoi.
day 7 - Hanoi – Fly to Da Nang – Transfer to Hoi An
After breakfast at hotel, the rest of the day is spent at your leisure until your driver comes and transfer you to the airport to catch an hour-long flight to Da Nang. You will be picked up at the airport and transferred to Hoi An in a private car. After you have checked in to your hotel in Hoi An, you are free to spend the day as you please.
day 8 - Hoi An – My Son Holly Land
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be picked up for a half-day tour of My Son. My Son was chosen as a religious center, built in the late 4th century under the Cham’s King Bhadravaman. It is a huge religious complex with over 70 towers and temples of different architectures.
Wander through the elaborate carvings and sculptures of the Cham people, tourists are welcomed at the Old Tower of the Cham. Explore the beauty of ancient buildings of the Champa Kingdom with the help of a tour guide.
At around noon, you will leave My Son for Cau Lau boat station for a boat tour on Thu Bon River, stopping at Kim Bong Carpentry Village. After the boat tour, return to your hotel in Hoi An.
day 9 - Hoi An Free Day
Today you will have free time to explore Hoi An at your own pace, seeing what interests you. This ancient town is full of Japanese merchant houses and pagodas, temples, and antique warehouses. Or just lounge about in a laid-back riverside café on the bank of the Thu Bon river.
day 10 - Transfer to Da Nang – Fly to Ho Chi Minh City
Today you will be transferred to Hanoi airport from Da Nang to catch a flight to Ho Chi Minh City.
Upon landing at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, you will be welcomed by a driver and transferred to your hotel. You have the rest of the day to yourself.
day 11 - Explore Cu Chi Tunnels
Cu Chi Tunnels is a legendary underground system of over 220 km of tunnels, that played an important role during the Vietnam War.
Today you will depart to Cu Chi for a 1.5-hour drive. Once you arrive there, you will get a chance to walk through some of the tunnels, discover the hidden corners and imagine what life was like here for the resistance soldiers. If you like, try to cook with the smokeless stoves used by Vietnamese soldiers during the war. You can even try foods that the soldiers lived on.
In the afternoon, head back to your hotel in Ho Chi Minh and spend the rest of the day as you please.
day 12 - Mekong Delta Discovery
Today, you will leave your hotel at around 7:45 am and head to Cai Be to explore Mekong Delta. Upon reaching Cai Be, you will take a sampan boat for the tour of the river and local settlements.
Your first stop will be a family-run factory that makes a range of traditional products like coconut candy, rice paper, pop rice, wine, etc.
Continue your tour to reach Tan Phong Island. Transfer to a long-tail wooden boat and sail further into the mangrove forest. After disembarking, it’s time to sit back and relax with savory fruits and traditional performances: Don ca tai tu, traditional musical art form of South Vietnam.
For lunch, you will be served with local dishes, including deep-fried elephant-ear fish.
Return to Ho Chi Minh City later in the day.
day 13 - Ho Chi Minh Free Day
Today you have a free day in Ho Chi Minh on your own. Explore what interests you, go shopping or go to Bitexco Tower to catch the sweeping views of Saigon.
day 14 - Transfer to Phnom Penh (Cambodia)
At around 8.00am, you will be picked up at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and transferred to the bus station to catch a bus that will take you to Phnom Penh. The journey will take about six hours, including the stop at the border for visa processing. You will arrive in Phnom Penh some time in the afternoon. Check in to your hotel and freshen up. You have the rest of the day to yourself.
day 15 - Phnom Penh City Tour – Choeung Ek Killing Field
At 8.00 am, your guide and driver will pick you up for the tour of the city. Drive along riverfront for fantastic morning highlights of Phnom Penh. Stop at Independent Monument to capture some beautiful photos before resuming your journey toward Choeung Ek Killing Field, the site where more than 20,000 of civilians were killed during Khmer Rogue rule, one of the darkest periods in the Cambodia's history. The site is connects with Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, a former school that was transformed to Tortured Prison S21.
In the afternoon, you will visit the Royal Palace, a complex of buildings which are served as the royal residence for the King of Cambodia, featuring impressive Silver Pagoda with over 5000 solid silver tiles and other Royal stupas, shrines, monuments etc.
Next, you will go on a guided tour of the National Museum, where you will find some of the most important collections of Cambodian antique sculptures and carvings. Later in the day, you will visit Wat Phnom, a Buddhist temple that symbolizes the name of Phnom Penh.
You will return to your hotel at around 5.30 pm. You can relax in your hotel or head out to check out the night life of Phnom Penh.
day 16 - Transfer to Siem Reap
Today, at around 8.00am, you will be picked up from your hotel in Phnom Penh and transferred to the bus station to catch a bus that will take you to Siem Reap. The journey will take about six hours. Upon arrival in Siem Reap, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day as you please.
day 17 - Siem Reap – Angkor Wat – Apsara Dance Show
Today, you will be driven to the South Gate of Angkor Thom. Accompanied by a guide, stroll around Bayon temple consisting of more than 200 smiling faces carved on stones, and interesting temple structures including Baphuon, Phimeanakas, Terrace of Leper King, and Terrace of Elephant.
Next, you will visit Ta Prohm Temple and then the marvelous Angkor Wat. Learn about the amazing history, its ancestral incredible, architectural masterpieces, and fine rock carvings that dates back to the Khmer Empire when it dominated the largest parts of Southeast Asia.
In the evening, you will be taken to a local restaruant for dinner, where you will also get to watch traditional royal dance show or Apsara Dance.
day 18 - Siem Reap Departure
Relish a healthy breakfast on the final day of your trip in Cambodia. Complete the hotel check-out formalities, after which you can visit the local markets to buy souvenirs for your loved ones. Later in the day, your private driver will transfer you to the airport to take your flight back home.

Amazing Trip
We had an amazing time in Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, and Seim Reap. Our guides were prompt and easy to find, were easy to understand and very knowledgeable, and adjusted the plan based off of our interests. They were prompt with cold water and wet rags in the crazy humidity and kept things at our pace. We had one issue at a hotel and the team promptly resolved it. I highly recommend this group!
