Itinerary

Traverse eastern Turkey on a 13-day journey starting in Istanbul, flying to the lush Black Sea coast near Trabzon and the dramatic cliff-side Sumela Monastery. Continue through mountain valleys to Erzurum and the haunting ruins of Ani, then travel beneath Mount Ararat to the striking Ishak Pasha Palace and the shores of Lake Van. Sail to Akdamar Island, stand inside the vast Nemrut Crater and wander historic towns including Mardin and Diyarbakır. Along the way, encounter ancient wonders such as Mount Nemrut’s colossal statues and the remarkable sanctuary of Göbekli Tepe before finishing in Gaziantep and returning to Istanbul.

Istanbul – Trabzon. Once you have arrived in Istanbul, you will take a later flight to Trabzon on the Black Sea coast. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel.
