This safari exceeded all my expectations. We departed from Dar es Salaam and enjoyed a cross-country drive where we got to soak in the Tanzanian wilderness. Arriving in Selous was like going back in time, everything was so wild and beautiful. Completely off-grid. We stayed at Hippo camp which was a nice little collection of wooden lodges on the river side with a great view. All meals (even the packed lunches) were of a high quality. My favourite wildlife moment was feeding the bush babies at night in Hippo camp - wish I could have taken one home. On the third day we woke up before sunrise for a jungle walk with an incredible guide who entertained us and told us 'bush' stories wish were certainly unforgettable! The wildlife in Selous was definitely up to scratch and it was so enjoyable to cruise through the varying and outstandingly beautiful wilderness. Book it now!

We have just returned from our unforgettable Adventure which was organized by this tour operator. Each day of our safari was amazing, We had a brilliant guide who knows where and when to see the best animals on action and he even speaks a very fluent English and he took care of us from the day one to the last day of our safari. During the safari you will spend a lot of time with your guide so it’s very important to have a guide to explain to you, make jokes and tell you more of his country, Culture and history and we were very like to have Herman as our guide. The meals was amazing and we got served hot lunches on lunchtime and our jeep was filled with plenty of Water, Wines, Beer and Soda, we saw lot of other tourists having their cold packed food. Through Herman we learnt a lot about Animals, Cultures, He never rushed and allowed us to take many beautiful pictures as much as we wanted. We saw all the Big Five and the rest of other wild animals like antelopes, giraffes and birds. The roads are not good so prepare yourselves for a free African Massage as Daudi the Manager told us during the briefing. Also trust their selection of lodges and am sure you will never regret, Daudi suggested to us Ngorongoro Serena, Intimate Camp, Mara Luxury Lodge and Four seasons. Those lodges are expensive but unlike others the tour company prepared a proposal with reasonable price while other International agencies charged us more and more. Always book your safari with a local agency like this one as we did for affordable prices. Save yourself the time we spent and Choose Meijo Safaris. Wow - not even sure where to begin. We did a 5-night 6 day safari with the local tour operator. It was difficult for us to select which company we were going to safari with and we couldn't have been more happy with our choice. We were always comparing our vehicle, food and guide info with others along the way and it seemed like we were always better off then those we met! :) Our guide Azaria has a true passion for wildlife and ensuring his guests are happy. He went above and beyond for us in many ways including helping us to buy bus tickets upon our return back to Arusha. Our chef Benjamin surprised us daily with his delicious meals. Peter (the owner) was very patient and answered my many emails with lots of details and quickly. We received quotes from a lot of companies and the one we picked is extremely competitive and we felt in the end priced very fair for the services provided. We camped for 4 nights and then headed to a mid-luxury lodge for our final night. Camping in the middle of the Serengeti was so cool and it was nice to end the adventure in a fancy place! One thing that is very important when considering a company is having unlimited driving KM's. We didn't even know how important this was until we were chasing after a Cheetah and 2 other vehicles wouldn't follow as they were limited to the number of kilometres they could drive each day. Nothing stoped Azaria from trying to show us all the animals! :) I would not hesitate to recommend this tour operator to anyone - working with a smaller company who us truly committed to customer satisfaction is totally the way to go for an expensive activity like a safari.
