We recently completed this tour, and it was an absolutely mesmerizing experience. From the moment we left Marrakech, we were taken on a journey through some of Morocco's most stunning landscapes, including the majestic High Atlas Mountains, the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, and the vast, serene dunes of Erg Chigaga. The drive was long but scenic, and every stop offered a chance to appreciate Morocco’s history and natural beauty, from ancient kasbahs to lush oases. Spending the night in the desert under a blanket of stars was a highlight—our camp was luxurious, with comfortable beds and an authentic Moroccan ambiance. Riding camels across the dunes at sunset was an unforgettable experience. A huge part of what made this tour so special was our driver, Hakim. He was not only an excellent driver but also a fantastic guide, sharing his extensive knowledge of Morocco’s history, culture, and geography. Hakim made us feel safe and well-cared for throughout the entire journey, and his friendly demeanor and sense of humor added a personal touch to the trip. His expert driving skills ensured a smooth and comfortable ride, even on the rough desert roads, and he was always ready to make stops for photo opportunities or interesting landmarks. My husband and I just returned from this tour of Egypt and Jordan and we absolutely loved it! This was our second trip with Expat so we knew that we should expect a jam packed itinerary with early rises and a lot of wonderful things to discover. The Egyptian portion of the trip was amazing and our tour guide Ramez was absolutely the best! Being an Egyptologist, he certainly knows his stuff and is very knowledgeable and passionate about it. He was also very well organized, a good communicator, patient with everyone, fun and extremely friendly. We had a small group of 15 wonderful people which made the whole experience even better. We had opted for the Felucca cruise on the Nile and it was a lot of fun. Crew on the boat were extremely friendly and made everything they could to make the experience enjoyable and memorable. They even through a birthday party (with the help of Ramez) to one of us in the group including a cake, music and dance around a bomb fire. This was so much fun! T

The Grand Tour of Morocco was a very good experience. Our guide Omar and driver Hussan were excellent. Hussan kept our minibus spotless and was always warm and friendly, helping out wherever he could. Our guide Omar went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. He was always available to solve any issues that came up, and tried to cater to our group to make sure we had what we needed and wanted. We only had seven people on our tour, which made the 14 passenger seat minibus (which was brand new) very comfortable. We had a good combination of group activities and independent time on our own. I was a solo traveller, and enjoyed getting to know everyone on the tour. The tour was in February, which turned out to be a great time to be in Morocco. It was cool in the morning and evenings, and comfortably warm in the afternoon. Bring warm sweaters and a good jacket if you visit in February. The best part was there weren’t too many tourists around making sites easier to visit and restaurants easier to get a good table. I found the Moroccan people to be very friendly, and I never felt unsafe anywhere we went. Our guide made sure we had our bearings in each new city or town we stayed in so it was easy to get around. The accommodations ranged from very good to shabby. I don’t mind basic accommodation as long as it’s clean, but one hotel we stayed for two nights was run down and not clean. The Riad we stayed in on our last night was beautiful and very comfortable. I also really enjoyed both nights at the Nomad camps in the desert. There were some very long days on the minibus (six to eight hours of driving on a few days), but our guide made sure we had stops to stretch our legs. We covered well over 3000 kilometres on this tour, which provided a great opportunity to really see the country. I would highly recommend this tour so long as you’re prepared for the full on pace and some long days. Again, I can’t say enough how much I appreciated our guide and driver.
