Langtang is the nearest trek to the Himalayas from Kathmandu. On this guided trek, reach up to and back from the lap of the Himalayas in just 10 short days. This Himalayan adventure takes you across the pristine landscape of the Langtang region as you discover the local ethnic culture and the highland life of Nepal.
Although a Himalayan adventure, it is moderately difficult trekking. With the stunning panoramas of the highest peaks in the world, you will also pass through numerous local villages and get a deeper understanding of the culture along the trail. You will find stunning close-up views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers of Langtang Lirung (7,246 m), Kimshung (6,781 m) and Langshisha Ri (6,370 m).
The region was one of the worst hit places in Nepal during the devastating earthquakes in 2015—a dry landslide swept away the whole Langtang village. But the region has quickly gotten back to its feet and is welcoming visitors again. This might also be a great opportunity to understand the impact of the disaster in the country, if you choose to do so.
In addition to the Langtang Valley Trek, the region also offers an incredible trek across the Ganjo La Pass and provides more opportunities to explore its cultural wonders. You can also extend this trip to Gosainkunda to make it Langtang Gosainkunda Trek.
Tent Peak (or Tharpu Chuli), a 5695m/18,679 ft peak is one of the most beautiful trekking peaks in Nepal. It lies within the Annapurna region of Nepal at the top of the Annapurna Sanctuary. First summited in 1964 by a Japanese group on an expedition to Annapurna South led by Dr Haruo Higuchi, Tent Peak is renowned for its views of the whole Annapurna range and Machapuchare.
Tent peak is popular as an easy peak to climb and suited to those who want to have ice-climbing experience without getting too high. This peak is also suitable for people who are restricted time-wise but are passionate about climbing.
We will go through hills, alpine meadows, waterfalls, rivers and mountains. We will explore Gurung villages along the way and savor the great views of the Himalayas.
A big thank to our guide Samda and the team (especially Ram who fed us well) and provided us with an excellent cultural and trekking experience. Samda's knowledge of Tibetan culture and the history of the monasteries provided a complete background to the history and culture of Mustang and its relationship to Tibet. Being present for the three crowded days festival was special and a complete juxtaposition to the following days trek through the stark and beautiful landscape of Mustang. We were treated to vistas of the distant snow capped mountains, alpine flowers up high, sheep and goat herders and even managed to find fossils left behind in the ancient raised seabeds pushed up with the Himalaya range. Thank you.
In November 2023 me and my friend embarked on a bucket list adventure. We booked a private tour for the drive in and out EBC via Gokyo Ri trip. Right from the get go everything was smooth, the communication at the head office made it appear there was no time difference between the U.K. and Nepal.
Upon arriving in Nepal the pick up from the airport and briefing were clear and to the point with no delays or issues. The trek itself has definitely been one of the most beautiful and difficult things I have ever embarked upon and I have NO regrets with my choice in agency or itinerary!
My tour guide for the 3 week package we booked and every day he stayed happy, tried his best to keep our spirits uplifted and made sure all the little things behind the scenes were sorted so all we had to do was focus on the trek itself. I highly recommend having him as a tour guide especially if you’re trekking in the Everest Region. Also, our Porter deserves a special shout-out for showing the strength of these Nepalese people, much stronger than I could imagine to be.
An excellent tour of Nepal. Trekking through the jungle was a great experience and views of the mountains - simply amazing! I was very impressed with the guides. They were gracious, knowledgeable and pleasure to trek with!!! In addition, the breadth and depth of knowledge the guide has is phenomenal, he made sure everything ran to plan while maintaining a cheerful deposition at all times. 10/10 to the company and the trip!!
Here is an amazing opportunity to get away from the usual, more crowded trekking destinations. The recently opened Mohare Danda (3313m) is a perfect alternative. Stay in community-owned lodges or homestays, a great way to appreciate the local traditions and lives of the people in this region. The focus of this trek is to protect the natural environment and to give trekkers a feeling of being part of the community when they stay with families who live in this wonderful location.
The Mohare Danda Trek in the foothills of the Annapurna Region is also known as the Eco-Lodge Community Trek. This region is rich in fauna and flora with dense pine, oak and bamboo forests – especially rhododendron forests and their magnificent pink, white and red flowers. From a vantage point of over 3000 meters, you will have breathtaking panoramic views of many large mountain ranges in the Himalayas, such as the 120 km long Dhaulagiri Massif and the Annapurna Massif.
This trek is also cultural experience that brings you in direct contact with local families in Magar and Gurung villages. Trekkers will appreciate the unique culture and hardiness of the villagers living in this remote region. Their genuine smiles are infectious and their kindness is second to none.
The Mohare Danda Trek is a perfectly suited short trek for individuals and families that begins at Pokhara and heads into the incredibly beautiful Annapurna region. We will take care of all paperwork and permits, and all meals and accommodation are included in the package!
The team was put together superbly, very helpful, supportive and knowledgeable. Met a group of like minded, friendly people- totally recommend to any person(s) wanting a unique, well organised adventure.
I highly recommend this local tour operator! We took 18 days trek to Everest Base Camp and 3 High Passes in November and the experience was just amazing. We had everything professionally organized by Chris: transportation (including flight to Lukla), food and lodging, permits, you name it... The contact with the company was always quick and easy, Chris was super helpful and everything went smoothly. We were even provided with really good and warm sleeping bags and jackets! Our guide Lakpa was really experienced and knowledgeable, he showed us some of the most incredible places we've ever seen, helped us through all the though parts of the trail and was always there to answer questions and offer advice. We felt really well taken care for every step of the way. We're already planning our next trek in Nepal and we'll most definitely come back to Nepal.
Unveil the untouched beauty of Nepal's Manaslu region, a true hidden treasure awaiting intrepid adventurers. This off-the-beaten-path destination remains secluded, offering a wilderness experience like no other. At its heart stands the towering Mt. Manaslu, the world's eighth-highest peak, beckoning you to explore its majesty.
To venture into this pristine wilderness, trekkers require a special permit due to its location within the Manaslu Conservation Area. The Lower Manaslu trek promises an immersive journey into the heart of Mt. Manaslu, treating you to breathtaking views of the Himalayan ranges.
As you traverse the trail, you'll encounter high-altitude glacier lakes and enchanting forests adorned with juniper and rhododendron blooms. Along the way, the path winds through picturesque mountain villages like Barpak, Laprak, Gyampesal, and Dharche Danda, where you'll have the chance to connect with the warm-hearted locals.
Dharche Danda, nestled at an altitude of 3,220 meters, offers a spectacular vantage point, unveiling the grandeur of Annapurna I & II, Macchapuchhre, Himalchuli, and Ganesh Himal.
The region is home to Gurung communities deeply rooted in Buddhism, providing a rich cultural tapestry. Explore ancient Buddhist monasteries like Shringi Gompa in Bihi and Mu, as well as Rachen Gompas in Chhekampar.
This protected area also nurtures diverse flora and fauna, adding a touch of natural wonder to your journey. Immerse yourself in the untouched wilderness of the Lower Manaslu Trek, where every step is a discovery of Nepal's hidden beauty.
This has been the most amazing experience anyone could ever think of doing. I have come so far, over 1700kms across this beautiful country, and over 29 high passes and been above 6000m. And not to mention the kind hearted people of Nepal, always full of joy and rich in culture, that we have met along this journey. For me this has been a very personal adventure and the sense of achievement I cant tell you how proud I am of myself. Ill take from this experience to propel me forward in life. The staff have done a phenomenal job on this journey, so tirelessly hard working. Its not quite over yet, still 2 days to go before we get back to Simikot, it makes me happy that its not over! Were now retracing steps back to Simikot and our flight out, its a strange feeling after traversing the country completely in the opposite direction, however this short return section offers a different perspective of the stunning views and I feel its fitting to be facing the mountains we have travelled over.I have been extremely happy with my gear that has served me well along this 152 day journey, its kept me comfortable and given me confidence in all the extreme conditions we have encountered. Although this journey is about to end I cant help thinking of the next thing, future goals, perhaps a trip to New Zealand and a mountaineering course to learn the skills to climb the mountains we have passed beneath over the last 5 months! When I return home I hope to inspire others to get out there, especially the youth, to get out there and get amongst it, there is so much out there.Personally, I would like to thank the tour company for making it possible, its a huge undertaking to organize and execute such a logistically complicated journey. Its really opened my eyes a lot, and its changed my life, when I return home the plan is to live more simply, at home we take so much for granted, here, there is so little, people have so little, and they are happy, and they have touched my heart.
Dil Man thank you for bestest hiking! It was very interesting and very adventurous! Delicious breakfast with fruits in the mountains. Coffee at any height and beautiful nature!
I am glad to say that I did the Dolpo after a few friends recommended me. Booking with the operator was an easy process and they replied to all my queries on email instantly. I didn't know what to do and when they suggested that I do this trek based on my interest, I blindly trusted them on this tour. And I should say, I made no mistake with that. My guide was informative and responsive to all my needs and wellness. Everything went beyond my expectation right from the moment I was given a warm welcome in the airport until the time I got back home. Words fall short when I have to thank them for all the hospitality I was provided. Thank you team out there. I'll be back soon for a similar trek in future.
