Vietnam is a country of great natural beauty, delicious and flavourful cuisine, compelling history, immense cultural diversity and an incredible heritage. Stretching its way down from the rugged, hill-tribe country along the Chinese border to the abundantly fertile Mekong Delta in the south, this land is as rich and diverse in natural beauty as it is warm and friendly when it comes to the hospitality of its people.
Join us on this ten-day, group tour to discover Vietnam's stunning natural beauty and remarkable cultural heritages. Starting from Hanoi, where we will meet you on arrival, this journey takes you to Ha Long Bay, Da Nang and Hoi An before coming to an end in Saigon (officially known as Ho Chi Minh City).
With an intriguing history spanning over 4,000 years, including occupations from both Chinese and French, the country’s architecture and cuisine is a fascinating testament to cultural diversity. Be part of this wonderful trip to soak up the astounding natural beauty and rich cultural heritage of Vietnam.
I can’t imagine navigating Vietnam without Diem. The trip was incredibly organized.. starting with Diem meeting us at the airport, to the lovely hotels, flights, transportation reservations, etc. We also appreciated the tips on local cuisine shopping and sightseeing. I highly recommend the upgrade if you can afford it. We hope more upgraded Explorer trips become available.
Our gastronomic trip to Vietnam was excellent. We experienced a very wide range of food and in a wide range of locations. We tried street food in Hanoi and Saigon, ate the freshest fish and seafood on boat journeys and had a delightful meal home-cooked by a family. We helped prepare food in several places including spring rolls, savoury pancakes, and Vietnamese bean cake. In addition to eating (lots) there was plenty of time to experience ancient historical sites and to scratch the surface of the relatively more recent wars that the country has suffered.
Our tour guide, Hung, was excellent. He had a great sense of humour and was one of the best guides we have experienced. We were a small group - only 4 of us. We got on really well, meeting as strangers but parting as friends, including our guide. A great trip all round and would thoroughly recommend.
I recently completed a 5-day Ha Giang Loop tour, and it was hands down one of the most unforgettable experiences of my travels in Vietnam.
The trip was extremely well-organized from start to finish, with every detail taken care of from transport to meals and accommodation.
A special shout-out to our guide, Eagle, who truly made the trip exceptional. He was not only enthusiastic and full of energy every day, but also incredibly accommodating and approachable. Whether it was helping with small requests, sharing local insights, or making sure everyone felt included, Eagle went above and beyond to make the experience enjoyable for everyone.
The food throughout the tour was consistently excellent fresh, flavorful, and a great mix of local Vietnamese dishes.
Accommodation was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained.
Overall, I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to explore the stunning landscapes of Ha Giang with a team that knows how to deliver a truly memorable and hassle-free experience.
We had an excellent tour guide: helpful, informed, receptive and with a good sense of humour. Most of the hotels were excellent....some slightly less so (Nha Trang for example). The service on the trip was exceptional. The support team of transport, bag carriage and a cycle mechanic were also excellent. Vietnam is fascinating and being on bikes we saw all aspects of the country. We saw its beauty, we saw the industry and pride of its people who were universally very welcoming. We also saw all sorts of things normal tourists, arriving in a large group with little language ability, would not be able to see. Some of the best things were stops in markets, or by rice fields, or at very basic homes or cafes. We saw a lot and visited a lot of different places: a 'grand tour' if you can do such a thing on bikes! The country certainly has issues, in my opinion, with rapid over-development (in the south particularly) with endless giant resorts half finished, being built or built and empty. It also needs to address the issue of litter. It is not alone in facing these issues! I am also certain it has the ability and determination to address them.

This tour of Vietnam covers much of what is a diverse and interesting about the north of the country. Starting in Hanaoi, the capital, we have included Sapa for its trekking and minority villages, Ninh Binh region for its limestone peaks which rival those of Halong Bay and of course time exploring spectacular Halong Bay itself.
Your itinerary begins with a city tour of Hanoi before taking the overnight train to Lao Cai and the trekking area of Sapa. We will spend two days exploring the valleys and peaks of this beautiful region while getting to know the local people and their customs. We then return to Lao Cai for the overnight train back to Hanoi for an early breakfast at the hotel before having the rest of the day free to explore this city. This tour combines well with a further exploration of southern Vietnam, a visit to a relaxing beach destination, or an extension into Cambodia to visit Angkor Watt and Tonle Sap.
