This tour was a great hybrid between going it completely on our own and a completely regimented tour group experience. Alessandra and the team made all of the hotel, transportation, and tour reservations and we just had to be at the right place at the right time. The events they suggested were great and hit all of the highlights we were interested in and more. There was plenty to do, but also some free time to explore on our own and relax.
How long does it take to fall in love? In a country where history spills from world-class museums and tiny osterias serve up life-changing pasta recipes, eight days might just be enough (but if you have more time, why not extend your adventure?). On this trip, you’ll begin winding your way through the canals of Venice, hiking through the scenic Cinque Terre, soaking up beauty and history of Florence and finishing up in the piazzas of Rome. With plenty of free time for independent exploration and the freedom to discover Italy's history and culture at your own pace, there's no better way to see this popular pocket of Europe.
This tour is the BEST way to see all the infamous spots in Italy, plus local hidden gems, at a reasonable cost and if you are short on time (we had a school break time limitation). It covered everything! We budgeted for the add-ons, especially those with meals, but you could choose to have more free time if you wanted. The food was extraordinary, the bus was roomy and immaculately clean, our driver Antonello was superb, and our Travel Director Anneleis was amazing! She was so talented at integrating the tour highlights, guests, keeping it fun even in the rainy weather, knowledgeable, and able to troubleshoot anything to ensure we had the best experience of a lifetime!! I would love to go back and explore Southern Italy next. The hotels were elegant (only one was just "OK" only because it was in need of some renovations) and the service with our luggage, tipping, etc. was seamless. I recently had the opportunity to embark on a wonderful tour of Italy, and it was an experience that will forever hold a special place in my heart. From the moment I set foot in this beautiful country, I was captivated by its rich history, stunning landscapes, and warm hospitality. Our journey began in Rome, where ancient ruins like the Colosseum and the Roman Forum transported us back in time. The grandeur of the Vatican City left me in awe, especially when I gazed upon Michelangelo's masterpiece, the Sistine Chapel ceiling. As we ventured north to Florence, I was enchanted by the art and culture of Tuscany. The Uffizi Gallery and Florence Cathedral were absolute highlights, and strolling along the Arno River at sunset was a truly romantic experience. Our tour continued to Venice, where the intricate canals and ornate architecture made me feel like I was in a fairytale. A gondola ride through the narrow waterways was a dream come true, and exploring the historic neighborhoods of San Marco and Dorsoduro was a delight.
Exploring Italy through this trip was an unforgettable experience! As for feedback on the trip, we really don't have anything that was negative. We loved everything that was planned! We especially loved how you planned the sites that we went and how the pattern flowed (not sure if you did it on purpose but we think so). Also, thank you for being very accessible to us during the whole planning of the trip. You helped put us at ease and it was very reassuring that we chose the right company.
