14 splendid days of cycling along the Danube, earning our rest and food and beer each day. Riding into capital cities that are built to welcome cyclists. Soaking up the history and modernism as we meandered along.

Exceeded my expectations except I did not anticipate so many border crossings. We wasted a lot of time waiting at different customs but that.is.not expat fault.

Prepare to uncover the cultural gems of Central Europe on the "Highlights of Vienna Budapest Prague and Frankfurt" tour, an inviting 7-day journey ideal for travelers seeking relaxed-paced sightseeing with plenty of historic and architectural marvels. Kicking off in Vienna, Austria’s elegant capital, you’ll wander through the lush gardens of Schonbrunn Palace and soak in the atmospheric charm of this imperial city.
The adventure continues in Budapest, nicknamed the Queen of the Danube. Here, a scenic boat ride on the Danube River reveals how the city is beautifully split into Buda and Pest, with grand boulevards and thermal baths lining the banks. Bratislava, Slovakia’s vibrant capital, welcomes you next with its legendary Old Town and iconic Michael’s Gate.
In Prague, the Czech capital, you’ll explore the imposing Prague Castle and cruise gently down the Vltava River, absorbing the city’s medieval beauty from the water. This journey then takes you into Bavaria’s heart, where the picturesque village of Lauf An Der Pegnitz and the architectural wonders of Wurzburg await, both offering a taste of Germany’s storied past. Your trip concludes in Frankfurt, where modern skyscrapers meet historic neighborhoods for a dynamic finale.
A key highlight of this tour package is the thoughtfully crafted balance between iconic landmarks and scenic landscapes, accompanied by seamless logistics—accommodation, transport, and meals are all included. For those who appreciate a comfortable, immersive sightseeing experience across multiple cultures, this tour delivers timeless European elegance with ease.
I appreciate that there are local tour guides (except during the leg from Brussels to Paris) who are knowledgeable of the historical facts of the places where we visited.

We had a great time on this trip. The itinerary has a lot of variety -- city/cultural tours plus hiking and rafting in beautiful scenery. Our guide, Csilla, was outstanding -- very patient, upbeat, and calm. She also gave us so much information on the history of the three countries. The wine tasting experience was terrific because we got to interact with old-time, traditional wine makers from the countryside. We've experienced posh wine-tastings at art galleries and hotels in the past, and although they weren't horrible experiences, they felt much more pretentious and much less authentic. Having read some of the previous reviews that were less positive, our comments are: 1) if you want luxury travel, don't book this trip -- when you order a glass of house wine, it will be just that, and no more. It's fine to be a wine snob or a coffee snob or a hotel snob, but don't book a relatively low-priced tour and then be disappointed when you aren't given luxury treatment. Some of the hotel rooms are small and won't accommodate a queen size bed, so there will be two twins. If going for a week without a queen bed is the end of the world for you, find a luxury tour company and pay the additional cost to travel that way. Also, with respect to the hike, the description in the itinerary was totally fine and a reasonable assessment of the difficulty. It would be advisable to have appropriate shoes -- we wore hiking boots and were fine. But any time there is a hike on the itinerary, you should plan ahead and have a fitness routine at home (before departure) to prepare adequately. It is unreasonable to book this trip when you cannot even do the city walks.

They did a wonderful job of organizing and supporting our bicycle adventure from Vienna to Budapest. The hotels were wonderful and the breakfast's amazing. Having not only GPS directions, but accompanying written directions and maps made our tour a breeze. Communication before and during the trip was excellent.
