Bhutan is well-known for some of the best and most exciting trekking trails in the Himalayan region. Many tourists visit Bhutan to explore the untouched beauty of the mountains – best experienced on foot. The Druk Path trek is one of the finest short trekking routes in Bhutan. Connecting the valleys of Paro and Thimpu, the trail leads over high passes on an ancient trading route, passing through spectacular rhododendron forests, alpine yak pastures and beautiful lakes stocked with snowy mountain trout. The trek begins via apple orchards and pine forests past a ruined Jele Dzong (fortress), which sits on a high grassy ridge overlooking breathtaking views of Mount Jumolhari to the north. In the next four days, we climb above the tree line and cross several passes including the Phume La (4210m). En route, we come across amazing clear mountain lakes, a number of yak herder’s camps and the splendid view of the Himalayas. At the end of the trail, descend through the pine and juniper forests via Phadjoding monasteries and head to the capital of Bhutan.

This is a fabulous trek for those looking for a less traveled path. We really enjoyed passing through all the villages and meeting the locals (and donkeys, yaks goats etc) along the way. Very friendly people, we took a large bag of chocolates to hand out to kids which we would recommend. Beautiful scenery, fascinating villages and challenging hiking at times made for an excellent experience that will stay with us. We went in early March, weather was great but some groups were turned back at the pass due to snow. Helps to have some extra days in case weather is bad. Not for beginners or those not in reasonable shape. Enjoyed the quietness of the route (early season). Tsum Valley a definite highlight, would absolutely recommend adding this to Manaslu Circuit or on its own.

A fair reliable local organization that provides a very qualitative and personal service! organizational: completely successful! The communication in advance, pick me up at the airport and EVERYTHING in between until the drop me back at the airport for the return trip: everything was arranged! By banal throat infection after the peak ascent yet with heli to hospital ... where people from the local tour operator were there to assist me, Dipak came to visit me personally and check if everything went well ... 3 days later I was in Pokhara enjoy (with antibiotics)! Good insurance is extremely important! Hint: European assistance 'world sport'. The trekking & Peak climb: A dream trip that has come true !! The guide (Gyeljan) and the wearer (Nuri) did everything to make it an unforgettable journey; two fanatic people! If necessary, adjustments could be made on site at all times. Bungee and Pokhara: completely successful! The few extra days planned with Dipak on site. In Pokhara I was welcomed and dropped off at a very pleasant hotel close to Phewa Lake.
