Ideal for experienced travelers and families seeking meaningful exploration, this guided group tour starts in dynamic Hong Kong and journeys through scenic Yangshuo, the rice terraces of Longji, and the villages of the Yao, Dong, and Miao peoples. Visit the thundering Huangguoshu Waterfall in Anshun and the historic towns of Lijiang and Xizhou before concluding in Kunming. The unique selling point of this tour package? Its deep cultural immersion, offering hands-on experiences with China’s diverse minority communities—an enriching adventure for those who want to see a side of China few travelers ever do.

day 1Arrive in Hong Kong and group meeting

Nimen Hao! Welcome to Hong Kong, a vibrant and fast-paced city only minutes away from quiet islands and beaches. After checking into your hotel on arrival, you have the reminder of the day for yourself.
Hong Kong is a great destination to explore on foot, with plenty of family friendly hiking trails on offer with varying levels of difficulty. Its Victoria Peak offers stunning views over the city and can be reached by several trails or by tram.
Ask your team leader for details and make sure you pack snacks and water if you plan to hike – there are no replenishing stations along the way. A more relaxing way to spend an hour is to join the Stay Ferry Harbour tour, which takes you past the city’s landmarks and around the stunning harbour. The Hong Kong Science Museum is perfect for families with young kids, particularly if you are visiting in the rainy season (April to June) and do not want to risk being caught out. Many of the exhibits are interactive and entry prices are reasonable.
Your adventure begins with a welcome meeting at 6:00 pm today. Please look for a note in the hotel lobby or ask the reception where the meeting will take place. It is important that you attend the meeting, as we will be collecting travel insurance and passport details as well as next-of-kin information. If you are arriving late, please let us know.

A colorful exploration and discovery

China is a multi-ethnic country, especially in the southwest of China, where there are many ethnic minorities. This exploration tour of China's ethnic minorities has made me more aware of their culture and customs. They have their own language, their own traditional clothing, their own eating habits and special marriage customs, and so on. It is really colorful! I like this kind of real travel and recommend it to you.
