Come and enjoy a uniquely Zulu experience with a visit to a traditional Zulu oracle/ diviner/herbalist. Then, enjoy learning more about the Zulu culture before visiting a crocodile and snake park.
An Inyanga or a Sangoma is a traditional medicine practitioner or shaman of the Zulu people in South Africa. A Sangoma / Inyanga can communicate with your ancestors, work with plant medicine (herbalism) and use the power of prayer for healing. While most practice all three, you will find others that work solely with one or any combination of these methods. Their training varies depending on family lineage and land location. However, what they all have in common is a calling to serve their families, their communities and the Earth.
The Inyanga / Sangoma stays in the picturesque area of Molweni. There you will have the opportunity to consult with the local Inyanga / Sangoma and have a traditional Zulu experience. The consultation lasts about 45 minutes where he will use traditional methods like throwing the bones to connect with your ancestors and convey the information he receives.
The tour also travels to the Valley of 1000 Hills. Home of PheZulu Cultural and Safari Park. Visitors are taken into traditional beehive shaped thatched huts, where the various artefacts, beliefs and rituals of the Zulu people are explained, giving visitors an insight into the fascinating Zulu culture. The Zulu dancing show (50 minutes) is impressive with the dancers in their traditional garb, showing off their skills with grace, agility and humour.
PheZulu also has a Crocodile and Snake Park where guests will be taken on a tour by a knowledgeable local guide. They will learn interesting facts about crocodiles and snakes and have a hands-on experience with Cleo the Burmese python who weighs in at 42 kilograms

The tour leaves from Durban to the Sani Pass 6.30am in the morning. It is a 3.5 hours journey to Sani Pass and along the way we will make the following stops:
- Pietermaritzburg the capital of KwaZulu Natal where we visit some Mahatma Gandhi statues.
- Scenery stop along the way
- Visit the Holy Trinity Church, and also visit RDP (Rural Development Plan Housing) Mr Mandela's dream for the under privileged people of South Africans.
The Sani Pass is a 33km gravel road that straddles the sheer cliffs of the Drakensberg escarpment in a series of tight Zig Zag curves. The route begins at the Sani Pass Hotel which is 1566m above sea level. You will be traveling in a Land Rover 4x4 upwards along the narrow road crossing the South African/ Lesotho border post which is 1968m above sea level. Along the way up the South African landscape KwaZulu Natal opens up in front of you displaying spectacular views of rolling hills and vast skies. We visit the local village and interact with the local and also taste their delicious home made bread. If the weather is good we reach the black mountains the highest point in Lesotho at an altitude of 3200 meters.
You can enjoy a delicious lunch at the Highest Pub in Africa at your own account which sits 2873m above sea level.
At around 3.30 pm we start to drive back to Durban where we will be returning around 7 pm. The trip is around 12 to 13 hours, but it is all worth it. We invite you to join us on this exciting day excursion.
Set off from the Berea, learning about Durban’s origins and take in the skyline from our favourite lookout point. We then make our way to the commuter’s daily crossroad, Warwick Triangle, indulging our senses in the vibrant diversity of the Victoria, Muti and Early Morning Markets.
Engage with citizens as you explore the arcades that further criss-cross the city, and educate your palate with a true testament of Durban’s Indian culinary heritage- the “bunny chow”. Stretch your legs with a walk around the historic city centre, from City Hall to the inner city gardens and end off the trip with a scenic drive along Durban’s harbour, Africa’s busiest port.
