Thanks to my wife for extending our trip on the front end. Once we left Edinburgh, we hit the country roads. The time on the coach seamed to go by quickly because Alison (our guide) told us about Scotland’s historical events, local myths and kept us laughing with her sense of humor. Our coach driver Arthur was an excellent driver. The only thing that seamed to go by faster were actual sightseeing stops. Because of time constraints we had limited time to spend enough quality time in each town. St. Andrews deserved at a full day and there was a missed opportunity for an overnight stay. Instead, we got almost one and a half hours there and it felt rushed. The worst hotel during the trip was a two night stay in Thurso. Looking back at the vacation, I have great memories of the trip but have compared the Country Roads portion of the trip to a sampler platter that left me a bit empty. My wife and had to read about some of the places we visited after fact, because of the importance to get the coach back on the road.
