I found the trip was too long, and there was not sufficient variety among the 3 Baltic Republics to justify a 14 day trip; a 7 day or 10 day trip would have been enough for me, covering the 3 capitals and possibly the palace.

Excellent

Great tour, learnt a lot of history which was what I wanted to get out of the tour. It was also great being on the slower side to break up my travels.

Fascinating Tour of the Baltics

This is my 8th Exodus trip since 2017. I appreciate the variety in the cultural tours, such as Discover the Baltics. Over the 12-day period, we visited all three capitals of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, explored historic towns (Tartu, Kaunas, Cesis, and Klaipeda), learned about architecture (Art Nouveau in Riga and Jarmala), trekked in national parks, visited famous churches, took a crash course on Soviet occupation at famous museums, and enjoyed free time to explore on our own. The pace is brisk. Be prepared to board your bus at 9 am each day to begin your tour. There are several long days on the bus as we typically visited two venues. I highly recommend this tour. Exodus should replace two of the hotels used. They were poor. I did not like being assigned a tiny room with a twin bed. My Top 12 Memories of the Baltic Republics 1. Meandering the cobblestone streets of Old Town Tallinn, Estonia 2. Foraging for berries in Tartu National Park 3. Riding a giant adult swing between Estonia and Latvia 4. Admiring the red roofed homes of historic Cesis 5. Roaming in the sculpture garden at Gauja National Park 6. Visiting the Art Nouveau Museum in Riga, Latvia 7. Admiring the colorful wooden houses in Jurmala, a 19th century seaside village 8. Learning the etiquette of “fan flirtation” at 18th-century Rundale Palace 9. Walking the trail of tears at the Hill of Crosses in Lithuania 10. Searching for seaside stones at the Curonian Spit, a Unesco World Heritage site between the Curonian Lagoon and Baltic Sea 11. Taking a boat ride on the lake in Trakai, the former capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania 12. Discovering Vilnius’ old town with our Exodus Travel guide

Wonderful trip with plenty of variety

This trip was fantastic. Every day we had something different to look forward to knowing Andrius would give us the best experience possible. There was so much to learn about the history of the three countries, it really makes a difference actually being there to hear first hand from locals how life has changed for them over the years. Beautiful scenery, swimming in the Baltic, cycling along a beach, visiting all three capitals, eating the local food, all highlights of the trip. The cycling was enjoyable as not to demanding and the bikes did the job although basic. The hotels were fine, especially as we hardly spent any time in the rooms due to the constant activities organised. Our group gelled well and we had much fun together, including with Andrius who arranged all of the dinners and lunches for us. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Our coach driver was excellent and a good support to Andrius fixing bikes etc. He also worked tirelessly to ensure we all had a good time. If you are considering this trip, do it!

An amazing trip!

Everything was good from booking the trip to finishing the cycling. The trip itself was so interesting - hearing all the stories about living in the former Soviet republics, seeing the stunningly beautiful Baltic beaches, easy cycling, tours of all the major cities, great restaurants, mostly cycling paths. I loved the trip and would highly recommend it.

CYCLE THE BALTICS

This trip provides an informative, especially from a historical and political perspective, insight into the Baltic States. Experience it for yourself now and your perspective will change. Plus these countries will change and evolve in the coming years. The relaxed but still very busy trip, combines a balanced mix of exercise, scenery, history, architechture and an introduction to the three countries.
