The Amazon extension at Inkatera was a lovely relaxing end to the holiday, a slower pace, despite one early start, with a well set out itinerary. The local guide I had was excellent and I saw lots of wildlife on the various trips. Food was good and plentiful . Fresh bottled water provided daily in room. There was no way to lock your accomodation/room from outside when heading out, but at night there was a makeshift bolt to secure door from inside. Very worthwhile extension.

Inca Trail September 2016

this trip is amazing from start to finish - it was a lot harder than I thought, however it was totally worth it. the Inca Trail was a life time want and having now achieved this I feel marvellous - our group of 8 were fantastic and made a lot of friends. From the moment we touched down in Cusco everything was organised and arranged for us - I cannot say much more than this trip is totally amazing and the views are absolutely spectacular - the Porters are such hard workers and to be honest really do not know how they do it. the 3 courses with every meal supplied was terrific and could not be faulted. Great Great trip amazing

Inca Trail and Amazon Adventure

This is an amazing trip visiting Cuzco, 5 days Inca trail including a night in a hotel in Aguas Calientes and 3 nights in Tambopata province (Amazon region) of Peru. My Son (12) and I had a fantastic adventure, thanks to all the hard work of our tour leader, porters and local guides. We were in a great company too, our lovely family group consisting of three other families.

Worthwhile trip to Peru

Aldo's passion and love of his country, his culture, his knowledge of history and his role as a guide was of the highest standard. His innate sense of timing enabled us to experience the absolute most we could at every location and activity we participated in. Rob and I were not keen to climb Wayna Picchu and we told Aldo this. However due to the quiet and confident manner in which he interacted with our group, we had the confidence and trust to know that if Aldo thought we could climb Wayna Picchu everything would be fine and so it was. That experience and satisfaction was one none of us will ever forget. Aldo is a brother to us.

A bit mixed. The Amazon extension isn’t really the Amazon, so I think there was a misrepresentation in that we were on a river that fed into the Amazon, and a long way from the Amazon. Having said that, the experience was good. We did not see as much as I hoped in terms of wildlife, but there is no way to control that, and we did experience the jungle. Lots of tarantulas!

I was really looking forward to the Amazon extension after completing the Inca Trail. It promised something different, more relaxing perhaps, but certainly interesting. However, we were relocated to a different accommodation and as a consequence, the itinerary was changed. Two of the things I was looking forward to; the canopy walk and the visit to Sandoval Lake didn't happen. In fact, there was no mention of them at all while we were there. Instead, all that seemed to be on offer were hikes through the jungle. Whilst we did two of these, and they were very interesting, a third one seemed like we were just going to do more of the same. The two missing trips as mentioned above would have been the variety I was hoping for. We did go fishing, albeit with 'heath robinson' equipment, which was fun, but it seemed a bit of an afterthought. I will give a shout out to our guide though, he was interesting and knowledgeable (Sorry, didn't get his name). In conclusion, the Amazon extension wasn't what we hoped it would be, and I feel we were let down a bit, missing out as a consequence of the change to the itinerary, and didn't get value for money.
