A unique experience all arouns. Fished for piranhas, saw pink dolphins and was amazed by nature's wonders. This was the most authentic trip i've ever done. Special thanks to our bamba guide!
this trip is amazing from start to finish - it was a lot harder than I thought, however it was totally worth it. the Inca Trail was a life time want and having now achieved this I feel marvellous - our group of 8 were fantastic and made a lot of friends. From the moment we touched down in Cusco everything was organised and arranged for us - I cannot say much more than this trip is totally amazing and the views are absolutely spectacular - the Porters are such hard workers and to be honest really do not know how they do it. the 3 courses with every meal supplied was terrific and could not be faulted. Great Great trip amazing
It was an amazing trip, one of the best I've ever taken (right up there with my trek across Asia in 1990-91), and I'd have to say without question the best we've taken with the kids. I can't emphasize enough how much we appreciated Aldo and Oscar as guides, each great in his own way. Aldo is such a gentle spirit, an "old soul" in the true sense, and I especially loved what he taught us about Inca/Quechua spirituality and reverence for Pachamama. I think we all felt a bond with Aldo very quickly, and by the end he was part of the family. I felt no qualms trusting him with my children's safety on the trail, or anywhere else, which tells you everything you need to know.
We added this package to the Classic Peru trip. Whilst overall it was great experience, it had some shortcomings mainly relating to the itinerary. Starting with the strong points, the accommodation was excellent. We were housed in small chalets on small and quiet campus. Food was all inclusive and of a high standard. The only thing to spend money on was drinks. Staff were friendly and helpful and they allowed us to stay in our room when we weren't leaving until 2pm. They coped well with the 4hr delay to our flight from Cusco although this did lead to a frightening trip down the river in the dark. Our local guide, Anderson, was knowledgeable and personable although his command of English was moderate. The itinerary was more mixed. On the first day it was excellent: we had an early morning walk to the treetop walkway and an afternoon/evening trip to an oxbow lake. This did involve quite a long walk including a return in the dark. We saw varied wildlife and birds including a family of capybara and a white caiman spotted in the near dark by the expertise of the local guide. By contrast the second day was a disappointment. The advertised early morning boat ride wasn't offered and the guide failed to show up for the evening walk. This meant that the day comprised two 90minute walks, unfortunately with little to see. Summary is it was a great experience but we were left disappointed with the second day.
