Lima 15-Day Tour Reviews

Mary, the CEO was great! She took very good care of us and kept the group together. Met some great people on the tour. Visited few communities on one of the days and it is great to see the local tradition as well as what the tour operator is doing to help these communities. My trip also included the Lares trek which was guided by Jean Pierre who is a legend and his co assistant, Marco who was very friendly and helpful. They both made this trek memorable.
I had an amazing time exploring Peru, our group leader JC, was exceptional with great knowledge and friendly demeanor. There was good balance of adventure and learning about the history of this beautiful country.
Loved this tour. Everything was planned well and it was amazing to get to know Peru. Please don't miss out on this country. Overall, we had a great tour and were accompanied by a professional guide.
Really excellent trip. Altitude is an issue. We needed the first few days acclimatising in Cusco, where walking up hills seemed an effort. But we were acclimatised when the trek started. There are two parts to the trek although they merge seamlessly. The Salcantay trek is more remote, higher and supported by horses. Highest pass 5k metres. Highest campsite is cold enough to freeze your bootlaces (even Cusco is hot water bottle cold at night). Then you join the Inca trail which is more mainstream, less wild but still breathtaking, no horses but plenty of porters who skip up and down the trail carrying their loads. Not the most challenging walking, probably half the days were proper level 5 and the other half more like level 3. But on the Salcantay part of the trek you really do feel that you are in places where humans are not supposed to tread. Macchu Pichu is very touristy but stunning. The nights at Agua Calientes and Olanta are delightful and Cusco is a fabulous city to spend a few days. Lots of Inca sites - possibly a little too many history lessons for some. We were humbled by the care provided by the leader Edwind and his crew of chefs, horsemen and porters. A wonderful crew who really added to the trip. We felt safe and very well fed. Oh and Peru is a very welcoming country, no litter (pachamama), no smoking and very pleasant people.
We were on the same trip as Neil Thomas and agree with everything that Neil has written in his detailed review. One part of the trip that Neil didn't mention was the Nazca Lines. From ground level these look like very uninteresting scratches in the sand, if you can see them at all. From the air they are amazing. But to see them from the air you have to fly in a very small plane, which is not for everybody. If you are happy to fly in a 7 seater plane that banks steeply from side to side to show people sitting on both sides of the plane the "lines" below you then go for it, it is well worth it. If you don't fancy the flight, there is a tower that you can climb to get a good view of .a couple of the lines, and a new much taller tower was being built.
Absolutely loved every minute of it. From the guides, Freddy, Richard, Katie, and all the porter Names of Local Guides in Peru: Jungle Luis and Wigner Cusco Sacred Valley and Inka Trail: RICHARD y Katya Cusco stay guide: Wenny Puno Lake Titikaka Guide: Juan Manuel They all worked so hard to get everything to run like clock work. 10/10 and would highly recommend
