Stepping it in style

An excellent way to get to know the beautiful Amalfi Coast. There was a lot of walking & very many steps, but we knew that from the Exodus trip notes, & had prepared. The weather wasn't entirely reliable, no surprise in February, but most days were dry after a wet start. The accommodation was good, with like vely food & drink and the kitchen visits to see preparation of local specialities were great. Transport was provided by local minibus drivers, who were very careful on the twisty roads. Veriano, our group leader, was lovely, knowledgeable & well connected locally, so he gave us a great time. He had to recast our first day totally due to bad weather, but still found a good alternative walk.

Excellent

Such a great experience. Our tour guide was a local and had so many great stories to tell. He was fun, friendly and made everyone feel like a family almost instantly. The accommodation was very homely and the food was delicious. The Amalfi Coast was beautiful and I highly recommend a visit in winter. We had some stunning days in the winter sun and avoided the summer traffic and tourists. Overall an amazing tour. My partner and I highly recommend it!

A true Italian experience!

This trip was an outstanding experience as well as a great value. For me it was the perfect combination of engaging conversation and camaraderie, fascinating destinations, and relaxation. We did and saw a lot, but had time to explore on our own as well as just relax. The variety of the itinerary was also a plus – visiting charming towns and historic sites, enjoying nature, and experiencing “la dolce vita”. The family-run hotel Due Torri was perfect for this kind of trip. Clean, comfortable, and most of all friendly. They made us welcome as though we were in their home, and shared laughs and kindness. We met their little dog and also "nonna" (grandma) who had an apartment there. The food was absolutely excellent, completely five-star. The leisurely four-course dinners were too large for most of us, but varied and always most delicious. We felt bad not cleaning every plate – bring an appetite! We particularly enjoyed being in the kitchen for two nights, helping make pizza and watching the chef prepare our dinner. The hospitality was outstanding. Breakfast was ample, and there’s a nice bar for casual drinks as well before or after dinner. Excellent house wine for only 3 Euro/glass!

Christmas Cracker

This trip exceeded my expectations and is one of the best Christmases I have ever had. On Christmas Day, we walked the Path of the Gods under a cloudless blue sky and enjoyed spectacular views of the Amalfi coastline. During five full days walking, we ascended and descended the hillsides, winding our way along pretty pathways and villages, passing through woodland and jumping narrow streams. All the while, we were aware of the impossibly dramatic and beautiful view spread out below us and the coastline fringed with the turquoise sea. We were able to visit Ravello with its picturesque Villa Cimbrone gardens; Amalfi with its stunning cathedral and chic shops and Positano with its wide shoreline (although it was Christmas Day and nothing was open). On one day, we walked around the rim of Vesuvius and even ventured into the crater (quite hot) and followed that with a guided tour of Pompeii. On the last day, some of us took a taxi to Naples to visit the Archeological Museum and sample a perfect pizza from the town of its invention.

So much more than just a walking holiday

When I booked this walking holiday over Christmas I knew it would include walking in a fantastic area of Italy with wonderful views but this trip turned out to be so much more! Churches, gardens , history and a mini cooking holiday all included. The trips to Pompeii and Versuvius were both excellent with two knowledgeable guldes. The hotel truly was" family run" and the two evenings we were invited into the kitchen to watch /help prepare the food were interesting and informative. Have to give a special mention to the pizza night which was amazing.

A must!

A very enjoyable trip during the 2nd winter of the pandemic; would love to go back again at another time of year but fear it would be too busy, this was just perfect. Daily walks with some amazing scenery. Hotel was just as described and run by a family of several generations with care and warmth, helpful in every way.
