Our tour manager JP Ruze was the best. He was like family to us. My wife had our passport stolen. He was with us everyday. Guiding us so we could stay with the tour and receive our emergency passports. If you had all JP Ruze as a your Tour manager. Every tour would be sold out. He is like family to us and miss him. Please provide him with everything he needs and Collette would have many return guests. Thank You Chris Hickok
This was a fabulous trip. Collette does a great job of organizing the schedule so you see as much as possible in the time you have. The hotels and the included meals are wonderful.
Since this was a level 3, active, lots of walking, and I had a recent injury, I did a few different things recommended by our wonderful Tour Manager, Tami. In Edinburgh I visited Queen Elizabeth's former yacht, used for 44 years, for a wonderful experience, lunch and tea. The other 18 people went for a walk on the Royal Mile, which I did a year ago. I was the only one who visited Jane Austin's home--with only 20 minutes, I simply walked through the garden. At Blenheim Castle, the walk was too far so I had tea in the cafe, then waited for the shuttle bus and I met an actress from Bridgerton who was filming an ad in the front courtyard. So lovely she was, and we took a photo for proof! After seeing Versaille and staying in castles in Ireland, Austria, Germany and Italy with Collette, I didn't think I missed too much.
I enjoyed this trip very much. The itinerary was great and covered so much history but also had a great balance of other options of things to do. I would like to make a comment about the itinerary that is listed online with the day in Brussels. There was no option of the Waterloo visit or staying in Brussels and joining a chocolate class, which I was personally looking forward to. We had no time at all in Brussels for any kind of shopping for chocolates, lace or seeing the little boy peeing statue. All things I think of when thinking of Brussels. I loved the walking tour of the city center but the rest was disappointing.
There is a lot of walking. I did all of the optionals and found that some of them had more walking than I felt was described in the itinerary...
Seeing the Eiffel Tower with all the lights going off & fireworks at midnight after the Cabernet dinner show. A surprise stop JP arranged with the mini bus driver. So fun with a small group!!!
